So I'm 17 and I live with my parents and my little sister. My parents do a lot of work abroad so they live in Canada and they come home occasionally so I live alone basically. My boyfriend got angry with me when I didn't answer him when I was in sixth form so he came over and trashed my room. He ruined all my make up. Smashed my Tv, Xbox, PlayStation, wii u, MacBook and iMac. My glass tv stand has been smashed and he's broken every piece of furniture in my room. He then went into my closet and ripped all of my clothes and destroyed all of my shoes. The walls are splashed with paint and he's wrote '****' on the tiles of my en-suite in lipstick. Other tiles have been smashed and the sink is off the wall. He's also smashed my car windows and ripped photos of me and my parents he even cut up my retainer as he knew that I'd have to wait to get a new one and my teeth would move. I'm not sure what to do. I haven't told my parents yet and my best friend is on her way over. It's only my stuff he's ruined. Everything I own is ruined and the only clothes that haven't been ripped are the ones I'm wearing and some that's in the washing machine. Would the police do anything as he's done thousands of pounds worth of damage.

I'm wondering because recently I've read about "identity abuse" where abusive parents (usually not neglectful but falling into the category of controlling, religious fundamentalists homeschooling parents) withhold their kids social security number/ birth certificate etc. as a way of maintaining power or not letting their kids do things without their consent even past the age of 18 I'm 19 and I have my social security number although not a copy of my birth certificate. I "stole" my social security number or copied it down when I heard it read out one time because every time I asked for it to apply for colleges or a job my mom would ask "why?" and act like she wasn't going to give it to me . she usually would but I wanted to prevent any identity abuse from happening so my question is, if it had, could i sue them for it? it seems unfair that as an American citizen I could have difficulty proving it if my parents didn't allow it

(Apologies keyboard is somewhat broken, apologies for bad grammar) so im dealing with a big issue and a massive descion. So my friend who is pregnant, 17 years old, has discus with her partner about the future of there child. both have come to the speculation that they cannot afford to look after the child when it is born for the moment. abortion and adoption is not really an option. i posed an idea which they think may be either a temporary solution or just a solution. since i do not know much about how adoption/custody works here i am. the solution is that i either take full custody of the child or temporary custody from what i have read. the main questions of what i have is this: 1. how do i go about this 2. how long will it take to process before i get the child if this succeeds 3. is money an issue? i have a really well paying job, i am 19 and living on my own can afford to look after a child as of right now 4. how long after the birth will it take before i get to bring the child home? now before u say anything about why i am doing this i have my reasons. These wonderful parents in an unfortunate situation are pretty much my everything and i owe them so much. without them my life would be next to non-existent. i have thought long and hard about this and am to stick with my descion. i understand i may not be asking the right questions but they are the ones i want mainly answered and any other information is appreciated.

  • If I am 18 years old and still living with my parents, is it still illegal to disobey them?

Frankly now that you are an adult and if you were my child and had graduated from high school I would expect you to pay rent AND contribute to the cooking and cleaning. You help make the mess; you can help clean it up. You would be expected by me to do your own laundry and ironing if ironing is needed. A parent is not a slave to an adult child; you should be holding up your end. That's what good roommates do BTW.

My grandfather mentioned he was going to sell the mower about 3 years ago and had said I could buy it. At the time I didn't have the money and told my grandmother I would bring it back. She asked why and I told her what he had said about selling it. She told me I had mowed their yards for the 8 going on 9 years and they had never paid me for it so I had technically paid for the mower and to just keep it. She's recently passed away and now another family member wants it and my grandfather has said to bring it back. Over the 4/5 years I've did and paid for all the maintenance on the mower spending thousands of dollars. What are my options

I wouldn't do anything "bad" such as drink, throw a party etc, the most I would do is just invite my neighbor over for some company. All I want to know is if it's legal or not.
