We ve only been moved in for a week, and one night one of our dogs barked after we d gone to bed. He only barked for 2 mins maximum (and he s only small so not a big bark) and the neighbours banged on the bedroom wall really loud. My partner and I were so scared - we re 2 girls in our early 20s and he s a man in his 40s. We slept downstairs that night because we were too worried about making noise and bothering them. We went round the next day to apologise and he explained that their toddler son goes to bed at 7pm and if we could keep it down in the evenings that would be great. The problem is, we re now so scared to make any noise after 7pm (and ALL sound carries in these houses) that we can t relax at all! When we go to bed I m terrified the dog will bark and we re just on edge all the time!! Are we just being stupid?? Would love some advice!

  • What can I do to get rid of mice?

I've bought traps and tried many types of bait but the mice never get on the traps. Now there's this one mouse that climbs up on my bed and run across then jumps down on the opposite side. I heard peppermint works but I haven't tried it and I only have peppermint tea bags.

Best answer: Most towns have rules against the perpetual garage sale for the very reasons, and then some, that you pointed out.

Call your local town clerk or zoning officer and find out if there are any town regulations about having frequent tag sales.

When an activity interrupts residents in neighborhoods and traffic flow, something should be done about it.

One access to our neighborhood is a dangerous blind corner on a hill. The town finally made part of that road one way. However, the sign crew failed to put a sign that says "no outlet" on the other end of the street, so I had dozens of people turning around in my driveway when they spotted the do not enter sign on the one-way portion of the street. It was so annoying and because our streets are narrow, there is no room to turn around without using private driveways. I was afraid my car would be subject to a hit and run due to all that traffic turning around. When I notified the town, it took them 24 hours to come solve the problem with a new sign. The townie guy told me that any change in traffic patterns is frowned upon. I hope you have the same like-minded officials in your town.

I'm new to sewing and this is a brand new machine. The first couple of times I used it, everything was fine. But now, the upper thread keeps getting pulled into the bobbin case so that when I pull the material away, it looks as though there are 3 threads coming up from it. One is the lower thread and two are the upper thread in some kind of loop. I've threaded and re-threaded it and re-loaded the bobbin countless times, and checked it's definitely loaded the correct way round! I don't think it's the tension, as it was fine for the first couple of uses. I get the feeling I must be doing something wrong, but I've no idea what. Any help would be really appreciated. TIA

    Best answer: 1) Grow up.

    2) The hair spray won't kill it, or if it does it won't kill it quickly.

    3) The cockroach falling is an escape behavior. As soon as it hit the floor it started running, you just didn't see where it went.

    4) Hair spray is glue. Chances are good that the hair spray will radically reduce its mobility. It'll either pick up so much dust and debris that it can't move, its legs will all be glued in place, or it suffocates (they don't breathe with lungs, but through little holes on the sides of their bodies - cover those up and they die). Chances are good that the cockroach doesn't have long to live if it isn't dead already.

    5) Put your skin back on. You look ridiculous.

    6) It didn't squeak. It doesn't matter what you think you heard.

    7) Sleeping in the living room will NOT change anything. Take note: the bugs have LEGS. If you can walk to the living room, so can they. If you have bugs in your bedroom, you can have bugs in ANY room.

    8) Grow up.
