  • Should I put stuffed animals inside a spin-dryer?

Best answer: I would put them into a pillow case and tie it closed so they are tight together and don't move, and use the spin dryer.. if you just put them in loose, they may get dragged about and damaged.

I have two dogs, a 50 lb and an 11 lb. They are with me and out and about almost all the time.

I vaccuum about once a week, should do it more often really but the big dog hates the vaccum and I hate to upset her. My dogs are pretty clean, I don’t have to actually wipe down the floors very often but use a spray and microfiber mop when I do.

I’m not sure what kind of messes your pets make...mine eliminate outside and are not really chewers although they have lots of toys. I don’t give them gross things to chew on at all because they sleep with me and I don’t want greasy paws or muzzles in my bed.

  • Besides laundry detergent - what else may I add to a warm wash cycle of colored clothing?

Best answer: This is how I wash colored clothing, and the load comes out clean every time: first, use a good quality detergent; I add liquid Febreze to kill odors; put white vinegar in the rinse cycle--not a lot, but enough to make certain the soap gets out of the clothes. Use Shout before you wash, to eliminate any stains or spots. Your clothes won't smell like vinegar. During the summer, I always hang out the laundry. In the winter, I use the dryer, but I run it on medium heat so clothes don't shrink and the heat doesn't damage the fibers. I hang up synthetics in the bathroom to air dry. Don't ever use chlorine beach on colored clothes. Read your labels to see if you can use non-chlorine bleach. It's better to not use bleach at all, if you want to preserve the colors and strength of your fabrics. About every fourth load, run a washer cleaning tablet through the machine to get all of the gunk out of it. It will keep your laundry smelling better and looking brighter.

My boyfriend and I purchased a fixer upper that has an in-law suite I the basement. At first we we just going to connect it to our home to make it more spacious for us but then realized that we could use the extra money to pay off our debt from having to fix up the home, which was in worse condition than we originally thought. At this time a friend from my childhood was looking to move into the city and we offered the in-law suite for cheaper than we could have rented it out for and included all the utilities so she didn’t have to worry about this much due this month and that much next. All was going well until we started to notice the washing machines were usually running when her boyfriend was over. And we figured out why, we saw him haul a large garbage bag to her door. We thought it might be his laundry, so we set up a camera in our laundry room and caught him red handed pouring his bag of dirty clothes into our machines and using our laundry soap to wash his clothes! I woke up and saw the pictures/videos on my phone and heard the machines being used. After letting my dogs out I realized my friend wasn’t even home. She was at work and he was over doing his laundry. Him being in the laundry room means he now has full access to our home, which is not okay with me at all. What should I do? I do not want to cause problems but both my boyfriend and I are not okay with this. Am I over reacting or would this make you upset as well?
