  • What should I order instead of soda?

I go to McDonald's frequently and I always order 4 large sodas cause it's just $1 and they taste good especially when it's 100 degrees hot. But I keep hearing that sodas are bad for you even diet sodas. So what should I order instead that's healthier? Orange juice? Lemonade? Milk? Mango Smoothie?

  • If I eat something bad (cookies, chips) as a snack during the day, will eating healthy later balance it out?

I do this regularly..I meal prep with all good stuff, but in between meals, during the day, I might buy a cookie or a bag of chips while at work, but still staying on track with my meals, and lifting almost daily. Will eating bad in between hurt me, or what?

I cognitively know I'm not overweight but sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and think "my butt is huge! my thighs are so fat! look at this potbelly!" Sometimes I just wake up and feel sooooooo flabby, even though I know I'm not obese or anything. I'm not even a size B bra cup but I feel like my boobs are huge and make me look fat. I do eat whenever my mom makes food and it's not like I'm purging it or anything, and I don't shy away from junk food. I don't overexercise (just like 30 minutes a day). I just find myself thinking about my weight a lot. Do I have some kind of eating disorder, or am I just a little hung-up on my weight?

Best answer: Drinking cold water absorbs heat from the body and it causes the body to expend energy due to muscle contractions needed to swallow the water, and peristaltic contractions triggered by an increased volume of fluid in the stomach and small intestines.

There is a common fallacy that the cold temperature causes a person to burn calories to compensate for the heat loss. Its amazing how many information sites have incorrect information about this. Note that none of those sites explain how the body produces more heat. Basal metabolism typically produces excess body heat, and drinking cold water merely helps to quickly dissipate the excess heat. You would have to drink enough cold water at a fast enough rate to lower core body temperature. Maybe you could do this by gulping a 12 oz glass of ice water all at once. For the most part, cold water only causes the body to burn more calories if drinking the water causes a person to shiver.
