    Best answer: Yes - I fast regularly. There's a lot of stigma with fasting due to anorexia, but if especially if you are overweight fasting can be beneficial. Also, I find fasting brings me focus and energy in the morning which is why I intermittently fast daily (I don't eat for 14-18 hours) and on weekends I typically go a full day or two. There is lots of evidence for fasting being good - just don't get carried away. The human body was not naturally made to eat 3 times a day -- in a more primitive setting if the human body needed to eat that much to survive it would be super inconvenient and difficult to live, as finding food was typically on a hunt and catch basis.

    However you may not need to fast if you are just worried about one day of eating too much, sometimes if I eat too many calories one day (like over 150/200 cal) I subtract that from the next day's calorie intake.
