Carrots celery fennel peppers etc.etc. you can make a low cal hummus with chick peas and lemon juice and eat together. Brown bread toast with avocado is great. Or make a veg soup and carry it around in a flask. Very filling. Apple and nut butter. Or have a big glass of water, sometimes you think you're peckish but it's thirst.

Best answer: There is a compound in olives that makes them very bitter.
They need to be treated so a brine solution, lye or salting is used.
Grilling a "fresh, uncured" olive will not remove the bitterness.
So if you have an olive tree in your yard or some other access to fresh olives you need to brine or salt them before they are edible.
If you are talking about a jar of olives or some that you pick up at the store that have been cured properly you can do several things that can change the taste.
Putting them in a dish you will cook will remove some of the salts out of the olives and into the dish. So the olives them selves will not have as much of a brine taste but it will be diluted by the rest of the dish.
You could soak a brined olive and change the water that will remove some of the saltiness.
If you have a store near you that has an "olive bar" ask to taste a few different types of olives. Each olive does have a different flavor and the way it has been cured will effect the way it tastes.
Personally I never did like green olives until I tried a mixture that I found at Costco. The olives are in an oil along with lemon and rosemary. I find them much less salty and I think the quality of the olive is better than the bottle that you typically find at the store.
