Best answer: No. Machine oil comes from petroleum, black tar, the stuff gasoline and petrol is made from. There are a lot of toxins in machine oil. Toxins are chemicals, too much of some types of chemicals that are from things like poisonous plant saps from ancient jungle plants mixed with the body fluids of the dinosaurs. The oil that we use for machines comes from deposits of compressed jungle plant and dinosaur bodies, and that all mixed together over thousands of years. All of those tree saps mixed together, and their combined chemicals are poisons to humans. We get our cooking oil primarily from plants that are not poisonous to humans, so we get cooking oil from corn seeds, sunflower seeds, safflower seeds, and olive fruits. We get butter from cow's milk, which is also used as a cooking oil and is a known source of human food, and we also get cooking oil from animal fats such as cow and pig fat. We know that we can eat animal meat, we can safely cook in their fat as well. Sorry if that part is gross, but back in the old days that is what people did - they made their food from animal fats, as it was very, very labor intensive and time consuming to get cooking oil from seeds in the old days! Now with machine processing of wheat and corn seeds, it is easier to separate the oils from the seeds during grinding for flours and bottle it for vegetable cooking oils. Knowing the source of oils makes a better choice for your food and nutrition needs. But no, machine oil from petroleum is not the same as oil from a live plant source.

You COULD precook them and then just heat water in the crock pot...when the water is hot, dump in the noodles, stir and let heat for 5 minutes, drain and serve...that would reheat them without over cooking them.
