I rear ended a car a couple weeks ago. I was going about 40mph and merging into another lane. I turn my head to check my blind spot, start merging but traffic stopped in that lane and I didn't have enough time to stop. A police report was not filed. The other car had minimal damage. I turn my head to check my blind spot, start merging but traffic stopped in that lane and I didn't have enough time to stop. A police report was not filed. The other car had minimal damage. I ended up using insurance for about $4000 in damages. I get a call from my insurance company and they other person is getting surgery! They said the accident is definitely not the cause of the need for surgery but could have exasperated the injury to the point of surgery. I have $100,000 in bodily injury coverage but they said worst case scenario the medical bills might end up exceeding that limit. What do I do??!

  • What could cause a bolt to snap when being torqued to a relatively low ft/lb?

I was torquing(sp?) a set of bolts to 18ft/lb. The torque wrench was new and accurate. One of the bolts suddenly snapped. The threads were clean, the bolt was clean. There was barely any pressure on the bolt when it snapped. What could cause it???

  • My car is being reposessed. Can I leave it somewhere?

I live in California. My car is going to be repossessed soon. I bought a new used car (with cash) and am driving my soon-to-be repossessed car to pick it up. Can I leave the car somewhere and let the financial company know where to find it, or is that illegal? My new car is 4 hours away and I need to pick it up. Help.

I test drove the car for 30 min. Everything seemed fine. I took the car to my mechanic the same day. The car was leaking oil. I had to have an oil gasket cover thing replaced. Sparkplugs and front break pads changed. Then the next morning the check engine light comes on and now there something wrong with and air valve. So far I ve spent 600$ in repairs. Now it s going to cost me another 300$. Is there anything I can do. Thanks. Please no rude comments. I m not a mechanic and I had no one to take with me.
