Best answer: While the north american colonies were as well original held by european feudal system ... many people came from europe to seek freedom from oppression not riches
the europeans in middle america and south america came for the gold and riches planning to go back to france and spain

the aztecs and inca and mayans (builders of the pyramids) had slaughtered the intelligent in each group people in war after war long before Cortez got there leaving people only in a ritualistic actions not with knowledge how they got there ... so the idea of get rich by war have power centered in that area

in the USA revolutionary war the people seeking freedom won
in Mexico when one group won they were the same power money hungry as the ones before them

While Mexico has the great resources they still fight for power to dominate not to individually succeed based on effort of sweat equity -- in suppressive government where private ownership is not the way of business and much if government owned and operated people have no incentive to be productive

Best answer: They are developed. They have manufacturing industries, natural resource extraction, agriculture, IT and computer science, top doctors and engineers, a major entertainment industry that exports movies and music around the world. The problem is the massive population. Overpopulation. Poor people move to the cities for work but there are not enough jobs, and the poor crowd into available low-rent places, creating slums.
Big businesses and government agencies force people off the land for your "development," and the displaced people go to the cities. Industries gobble up the water, hurting local agriculture. Poor people often use old farming techniques, because they lack the cash on hand or credit to enhance their operations. That's an old story. It was that in America at one time too.

  • What does 'putting freedom before equality' mean' ?

Best answer: It's a trade-off. Equality is generated by forces. Freedom will create an efficiency, because individualism will make the better decision than the state.

One of my friends, who is a nurse, says that I need to find a job and make a living for myself. Right now, I am a part time math tutor for online and make $20 per week. My question is, is it more important to make more money to make a living for myself or is it more important to pursue and continue with my physics research? While I do think it is important to make a living for myself so I don't end up in poverty, for me, it's more important to continue with my research while learning more and utilizing my cognitive skills. I'd rather not do menial work like nursing or maid for the sole purpose of making lots of money. I want to make contributions.

Europe never had this problem. Socialism is allowed to be discussed and are taken a lot more seriously. Someone like Bernie Sanders is right-wing in some European countries.

In Italy, you can take out all of your unemployment benefits in one lump-sum as long as you pledge it to starting your own business that has to be a worker cooperative. In Germany, they have a law that if your company has over 2,000 employees, at least 1/3rd of its board of directors has to be elected by the workers. There's also Jeremy Corbyn's "right to work" proposal in the UK which would allow workers to transition existing businesses to worker cooperatives under certain conditions.

These concepts are completely alien to people in the America.
