• Question about Rafael Nadal?

Do you think Nadal has been putting in extra training in the gym in the last 12 or 18 months? Because his arms and shoulders look more ripped than I think I've ever seen them.

Men play more sets of tennis than women do, and 2. Men bring in a bigger audience than women do (more money).Last year however the do gooders got their wish and female players now get the same cash as males, but they still play less sets of tennis and still bring in less cash than the males do.With all these well publicised career threatening injuries we have seen with Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal etc...Isnt it clear that these extra sets are putting more physical demand on the men, who stand to lose more money long term if they have to quit due to wear on their bodies?Equal pay for women I agree with, but not for less work in any field, be it sport, the office or a construction site.Your views?

Best answer: The tennis ball travels 78 feet from the other baseline before it reaches you. From the center, you only need to move 16 feet to the left or right. If you can read where the ball is heading as soon as the ball leaves the racket of your opponent and react right away, you can move at only about 1/4 the speed of the ball to get to it even at the farthest corner.

Then there's more. The slower and more precise your movement in getting to the ball, the faster and easier it is to recover and get back to the center before your opponent's next shot.

  • So what did billy jean king really accomplish except prove she could beat an old man 25 years her senior in an athletic competition?

that's like boasting you beat a quadriplegic in a kick-boxing match. and she still barely beat him, in spite of his age. bobby riggs was clearly a far more skilled tennis player than she was. had they been more closely matched in age, he would have made minced meat of her.
