I was shooting my 10/22 the other day, and had an occurrence I haven't had before, about 2/3s the way through the mag, I fired a round and a large puff of smoke blew out in my face, I was wearing eye protection but my right eye still stung very mildly, not so much to ruin the day, but enough for me to notice it. I moved to a different part of the range and forgot to pick up the casings, so I don't know if maybe a casing ruptured or something, but I was shooting Winchester M22 bulk. I had also cleaned my 10/22 a few days before, however I had already ran about 100 rounds through it with no problems leading up to this.

You can dress it up also with beautiful wood parts easily added. My personal preference for these parts is Bullberry. You can even add a stock and make a small rifle out of the Contender.

If you would like a very nice very accurate and very versatile LARGE handgun the two ONLY ones I would suggest are the Contender OR the Remington XP-100. The Contender I would say has the edge because you have so many choices of caliber from ONE handgun.
*The Contender .... Money well spent.

I am currently on the market right now for a new bolt action rifle. I have shot the 6.5 creedmoor cartridge several times and I have decided on that caliber for my new gun. I will be using this gun mostly for target shooting out to 1000 yards and for deer occasionally. My price range is anywhere from $1000-$2,200 for a new rifle. Since this gun will be used for hunting and long range precision shooting, I would prefer it to be no more than 8 1/4, maybe 8.5 pounds but no lighter than 6 1/2-7 pounds. I’m looking for a gun that is guaranteed sub MOA forsure. I would also prefer a shorter throw on the bolt as I no longer like the 90 degree on most guns after having shot multiple 54 degree bolts like the browning x-bolt. But if the action is THAT good, I may consider it. I am curious to what brands you guys would recommend and which brands to stay away from. I have been looking at the Weatherby Mark Vs heavily and was wondering how the accuracy is on those rifles. I also looked at the bergara’s but I think they are too heavy for active hunting or way too light for precision shooting. Feel free to throw out brands you’ve enjoyed shooting and brands you’ve had bad experiences with! Than you in advance!
