I work in sales (cosmetics to be exact) and at the counter there's 5 of us. On most days, 3 or 4 of us will be working together at a time. I've been with the company for almost two years and we were always told to stand out in the walkway and greet customers and help them at all times. Well until recently, one of my coworkers wanted to change the rules around. She was all like "I'm going to make a rotation system. Like Anne goes first, Mary goes second, etc." Because she felt like some people were getting more sales than others. And I was all for that idea at first but after a day of doing it, I hated it. So as I mentioned earlier, we are supposed to all be out in the isle greeting people. When it was "Mary's" turn, everyone would start hiding behind the counter and Mary would be the only one on the sales floor. And the managers would get mad obviously. Also, when I would get approached by a customer and it wasn't my turn, they wanted me to say "Hey Mary come over here, this customer needs help" which looks so unprofessional because I wasn't doing anything anyways besides standing there so the customer will probably think i just didn't want to help them. The other problem is they would skip over me and I would have barely any sales because they would lose track of who's turn it is and just name a random person to go next. I told them how I feel about the whole thing and that it's a recipe for disaster. But they seem to not care about what I have to say. What should I do?

I am 23 and work part-time at a large retail store. I usually do three shifts a week. I often work with this 18 year old boy who is very annoying and irritating. Unfortunately, nobody at work really likes him, but we put up with him. I am polite and civil towards him, but that’s as far as it gets. He is completely full of himself, overly talkative, doesn’t like listening to others, creates unnecessary drama, has NO social awareness, and always interrupts our managers when they’re busy. The customer service that he provides is extremeky over-the-top, and many times I’ve seen customers secretly laughing at him when he goes overboard. He also sends CONSTANT messages in our work group-chat asking for his shifts to be covered. It’s ridiculous. He tries to tell me and other co-workers what to do (even though he’s not a manager and is YOUNGER than me). I’ve worked with the company for five years, and he has been there for 10 months. Hence, I REFUSE to be told what to do by him and I’ve had to put him in his place now and then. How do I keep my cool when working with him? Like I said, I’m not rude and I always remain polite and calm. However, lately he has really been testing my patience (like today - I had to just walk away and take a deep breath). How can I not let him annoy me?

  • Is it rude when you follow someone to into the toilet to then talk to them?

Best answer: Yes, I would consider that as being rude, it happens more with people that are celebrities, but regardless it is unwanted and annoying

  • This woman seemed very offended with constructive criticism?

Best answer: It is not your place to comment on the attire of strangers. I would have told you in no uncertain terms where you could stick your advice. The woman was very restrained in the circumstances.

I had some people tell me, "There's that smile!" "Why do smile a lot, I mean we're just friends?" I even smiled a lot at my professor that every time I smiled at him, it distracted and interrupted him during his lectures and he said something like, "You're smiling at me again?" Then he would stop lecturing and he would slouch like my smile made him so weak, and he smiled at me back. I would take a test and I would look up, and once we make eye contact, there I am, smiling at him. When I saw a counselor, I saw on the notes that she wrote, "Inappropriate smiling." In the library, I kept looking around and smiling at the people next to me in the library, who were old men, and one of them asked me out. The other old man said, "Don't look at me. Because your smile is very seductive."

That's if either of us don't come late and one of us has to stay in the back. I usually dance in the front, and she does too, and she dances behind me. Almost every class, she keeps looking at me, and only at me. If there is a move that we have to turn around, and I am in the back, she would turn and look at me. I never had a conversation with her, I only smiled at her once and she smiled back. I never said a word to her. I never made eye contact with her again except that one time I smiled at her, because I didn't feel comfortable, but she still keeps looking at me. The last class, she chose to dance in the spot behind me, and she was really close behind me, even if there no one on my right and there was room there. The Zumba Instructor even said, "Why don't one of you go on this side, because there's no one here?" Then the lady said, "No..." Then during Zumba, the instructor made everyone line up and put their hands on the waist of the person in front of them jump. The lady was behind me and put her hands on my waist.

My manager is a guy and he dresses in mens suits and has short hair, he also has a beard and is pretty muscular. Well anyway, he wears makeup. Not like a full dramatic face of makeup but just a little bit of lipstick, mascara, blush and fills in his eyebrows. He is gay and I knew that but the reason I'm mentioning all this stuff is because the other day he was telling me "can you please move the table to the other side of the room?" And I responded "yes sir" and he looked so mad. But he refers to himself as a guy name (Harry) and the situation was weird. I also said something to my coworker that was like "Where is Harry? He was just here a minute ago" and he was behind me and he responded "He??" And I got confused and then he walked away. Now he barely talks to me and I found out it's because he identifys as a woman and wants to be female. I didn't know that, especially like I said he has a long beard and wears men clothes and is so muscular and manly so I didn't think that's what he wanted to be referred to. Should I go up to him tomorrow and apologize? And if so, what should I say?

  • My coworker is ALWAYS high!?

Best answer: Like all drug abuse most people do not get help until the consequences of use damage their lives enough to disrupt their livelihood and home. So best thing you can do for her is report her and tell her she needs to get some help to end her dependence on weed.

The guy I've been dating and been friends with for 3 years, just moved many states away. He kept saying if he was staying we would be together, but also to look for jobs in the area he was moving to and we could live together. A few days after he got to his new place we had an unexpected good talk (but through text) about what we both want, where we see this going, etc. He wants me to visit and eventually live there, and we'd make our relationship official. The next day he was supposed to call so we could plan the trip because I have to give work notice. That never happened, hes too caught up in being in his new city. He does call but it's more light convos. He mentioned needing to have a baby down there, that he wanted to pop one out asap. He didn't say with me or even hint. And up here he was extra careful because he didn't want to get me pregnant. So I'm upset. I know he cares about me but I cant help but feel like he might not be serious about us and my emotions are on a roller coaster. What would you do?

Okay so I need honest advice about what this could mean. I have a neighbor that’s lived next door to me for almost a decade. She’s this attractive older woman (probably early 50s or so) that I’ve really never talked to. Anyway, I’ve had a huge crush on her since she’s moved next door. I check her out a lot when she’s outside and it’s just a surface attraction type thing. Anyway, sometimes I check her out as she’s getting home and I’m in my bedroom looking through the blinds. The other day as she was getting home she got out of her car and looked directly at the window I was at and gave a small type of wave. She was on her phone so I didn’t really react to it. Well she did the same thing yesterday as she was getting home, only she wasn’t on her phone this time. I think she can see me now so I honestly don’t know what to do. She just does a sort of wave and goes in her house. She isn’t acting weird or anything to imply she’s creeped out, so what could this mean. Could she know I’m checking her out? What do I do?
