They are completely distracted by them, playing games, listening to music, and not paying attention in class. We told them yesterday that starting on Monday they will be required to turn their cellphone in at the door in the morning, and will get it back at the end of the day. Needless to say, there was mass meltdown. It's not like parents couldn't get in touch if they needed to, they could call the school and the kid will be brought to the phone. What do you think?

If you don't find a way to do that, you could cause permanent harm to your body and/or brain, and I promise that harm will mess up your future more than not taking AP classes.

My advice is to talk to your guidance counselor, your school nurse, and your teachers. Explain the problem and ask for suggestions. They will be able to help much better than strangers on the internet.

  • If you get expelled from school in grade school, what happens? Are you out of an education?

Best answer: YOUR PARENTS are responsible for your education. If you get kicked out of one school, they have to find another that is willing to take you...That may mean they have to pay for private school, or that they have to educate you themselves, at home.

  • Do you think a 1hour and 45 minutes detention is too long ?

Best answer: I think you need to GROW UP some and QUIT WHINING. Detentions aren't supposed to be FUN. They're supposed to be a time in which you complete your school work as a punishment for bad behavior. The next step above this is a suspension, pal. And if you keep screwing up, you could get kicked out of school... show more
Best answer: I think you need to GROW UP some and QUIT WHINING. Detentions aren't supposed to be FUN. They're supposed to be a time in which you complete your school work as a punishment for bad behavior. The next step above this is a suspension, pal. And if you keep screwing up, you could get kicked out of school permanently. While that might sound fun, it's NOT, because how are you going to support yourself without an education? Companies don't hire kids your age to do anything. Even Mickey D's and Walmart don't hire kids your age, because it's illegal and it's bad for business. They might hire you when you turn 18, but if they do, you'll spend the rest of your life flipping burgers or being a greeter at the door of your local Walmart. Is THAT what you want??

If you answered no to that question, then you need to SHAPE UP, because otherwise you're going to get told to SHIP OUT of school. Kids have gotten kicked out of school for being absent or late too many times before. And they inevitably meet bad ends when this happens.

What do you call this in (American) English?

A locker-room sink might be used because that is where they seem to be found the most often, but that would be from a person that isn't sure how to identify the single sink with numerous faucets except in terms of where they had been seen.

I wouldn't know how to call the round ones that are similar either, though.

  • Wait one minute I'm currently 17 i will turn 18 in February and graduated high school at age 18 instead of 17. Which means i was held back.?

Best answer: No, you weren't held back. Most people graduate high school at 18, unless they have a summer birthday. Anyone who was born between September of 2000 and August of 2001 (in other words, anyone who turned/turns 18 between this past September and next August) should graduate from high school this spring.

  • Why hasn’t anyone aged physically since the 9th grade?

I go to a 9-12 grade high school. The seniors in my class have been in my classes since the 9th grade. Very few actually physically changed. Most people look exactly the same. It’s been 3 years now, they started at 14 now they’re 17. Thoughts?
