  • Why does everyone regret their tattoos?

I gave myself a stick and poke tattoo on my foot when I was a teen. It's pretty bad quality wise and over the years is gotten blotchy and faded but I've had it for years now and I've never once regretted it. In fact I still very much like it and I'm glad I did it. • What do you think people have thought of this tattoo I've had on my wrist for years?

What do you think people have thought of this tattoo I've had on my wrist for years?

Best answer: At first sight I thought it looked like a crab, sort of like the cancer zodiac. It's looks older and faded, so I would think that you probably got it when you were younger. Maybe a spur of the moment kind of tattoo (not that those are bad). I can see the spider, since you mentioned it. You should touch it up... show more

  • Would a tattoo shop actually be a great place for a robber to hold up? (See details for explanation of my theory)?

As a man with at least 30 hours of ink in me, I have used 3 different tattoo shops based on the style I am getting, and they all operate on a cash only basis. You'll find that a lot of them are that way. Some do take plastic, but at least half of them don't, at least in my area. Don't ask me why, but... show more
As a man with at least 30 hours of ink in me, I have used 3 different tattoo shops based on the style I am getting, and they all operate on a cash only basis. You'll find that a lot of them are that way. Some do take plastic, but at least half of them don't, at least in my area. Don't ask me why, but it seems to be a largely cash based industry. Further, most tattoo shops have websites with an FAQ page that tells you which payment methods they accept, so anyone, including a robber, can find that information in advance. Let's say a robber selects a shop to rob based on their website saying they are cash only. Most tattoo shops charge in the range of $100-$200 per hour. What's their most popular day? Almost certainly Saturday. You can go into most shops saturday night and find a large crowd hanging out in the lou ge waiting for their turn. A robber could enter a cash only tattoo shop on a Saturday night with a gun, order everyone on the ground, and rob the register with the take of the busy day in it. He could then order all the tattoo artists to empty their pockets of tips, and all the clients to empty their pockets of the cash they all have on them to pay for their tattoo. He could make off with 10k easily, all without the security of a jewelry store or the risk of dye packs and tracking devices banks use. Do you see any flaws in my logic, or is there no better place to knock off than a cash only tattoo shop on a Saturday night?

  • True or false: Tattoos age MUCH better on men than they do on women?

You may say it depends on the person, but I personally haven't seen any exceptions. I say this as a guy with many tattoos. I have met World War 2 Veterans in their 90s and Korea veterans in their 80s who have old school sailor jerry style tattoos on their arms that they got done back in the war, and they still look great on them after over 60 years later. I have also met women in their 50s and 60s who have tattoos 20 to 30 years old, and not a one of them look in any way flattering, and good God if they were tramp stamps..... Tattoos, in my experience, look great on men of all ages and younger women. The problem is younger women can't easily get rid of them when they get older.

I feel a little weird about it but people get album art and things like that tattooed all the time so I'm not sure

  • So, I gave myself a pen ink stick and poke out of curiousity..?

Before any of you say it I know thats a dumbass move, and pen ink is not made for being in your skin, even if it says non toxic. I did it like two days ago, with a sewing needle I sterilized under a flame. Directly after I did it, I wiped off excess ink and bandaged it for like 6 hours. I then gently washed it off with a mild antibacterial soap, and since then have been washing it twice every day, and then using a small amount of a scentless lotion on it. It's really ugly, I know, it wouldnt have been so bad but I did it at uneven depths with the needle at an angle so the ink spread blotchily under my skin. I dont care much as it's on my leg in the middle of winter. Basically, what is the likelyhood of it getting infected and what should I watch out for, and how long do you think itll last before it really starts to fade, as I've heard that ones done badly with pen ink fade in months.

  • Is it true tattoos deteriorate as the person gets older?

Best answer: I have some that are 30 years old, and they still look fairly close to the ones I have gotten recently. It depends on your skin, how you take care of them, whether it's exposed to sun or not, and a lot of other things. I personally would NEVER touch up an older one.

  • Can I use a temporary tattoo as my outline for a stick and poke tattoo?

I have done many stick and poke tattoos with just drawing with pen onto the skin, but I was wondering if using a temporary tattoo as my template/outline may lead to infection? I will still use a sterile needle and clean the skin.

BELIEVE ME, what you think is cool now you are going to highly regret down the line, maybe in as little as 3 years. What you should be asking people is "do you regret getting a tattoo so young". Guarantee most people will say yes, that **** is permanent. Listen to someone with some experience in this. And plus it won't be safely and professionally done because you're not 18, so shops are out of the question. You want a shitty tattoo forever? WAIT!
