I want to further my education after high school of course but I really don’t want to feed into the terrible education system of being in debt for a long time. I have decided i’d like to travel abroad to go to college, my mother and father are from europe and have only lived in the US for some short time, therefore it seems like a realistic idea for me. I am just lost as to what actions i should begin to take now to make this idea a reality. If you guys have any tips or experiences i would love and appreciate help. so much,

https://thebestschools.org/features/best... - [covers all of US; the top ranked school in California is Thatcher, at #10 in the US] [also lists latest total fees for tuition, room & board]

In addition to he school's fees for tuition, room & board, there are numerous costs to add: uniforms; personal clothing (they typically provide students with a list of required personal clothing, labeling requirements, etc.); books, equipment & supplies; funds for sports, student activities & school trips, etc.; personal funds for toiletries & grooming, replacement/additional clothing, other personal expenses. Expect most boarding school students will get a personal allowance from home of $100/week or more to cover all these additional expenses. Add round-trip transportation home 2-4 times a year as foreign students must go home to parents over school holidays & vacations when dorms are closed.

Data for financial aid is for Americans, not foreign students. Unless the school has endowment funds specifically allowing aid to foreign students, there's no financial aid. Furthermore, to apply for student visa, you must prove you & your parents have sufficient funds for all school + living expenses + return transportation to country of citizenship. No way that could be less than $50,000/year - expect average totals around $75,000/yr, all in.

  • Which country do you think would be the best to live in out of Spain, Italy or Greece?

Best answer: There are agencies that arrange Au Pair positions and take care of the visa issues. I would suggest Spain, although I love Italy, the food and the lifestyle. But learning Spanish would be a definite job skill for you for the future.

I’ve been studying abroad in France for about two months now, and I still have 8 months left to go with this host family. It’s not that they’re horrible people or treat me badly or anything. They’re actually pretty nice and I think they are good people. The biggest problem for me is that, bottom line, I just don’t feel happy there. I wake up in the morning feeling uncomfortable and that I would rather be somewhere else. To make things worse, I feel extremely uncomfortable around my host dad. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, he’s just got kind of a creepy presence, and when I’m around him I feel my personality kind of shut down. People say that’s just culture shock, but the thing is, I’ve stayed the night with some friends of my host family while I was babysitting their kids, and I absolutely loved it! They’re so nice and friendly, and I don’t feel like I’m living in a house with a bunch of strangers. Plus, the dad is super nice and doesn’t creep me out at all! I feel like changing is the right choice for me, but I’m really really scared to leave my host family. I don’t want them to hate me and think I betrayed them for leaving, especially if I end up living with their close family friends! I just don’t know what to do- if anyone has some suggestions help me out !

Best answer: Student visas are temporary NON-immigration visas issued on the condition that foreign students return to their country of citizenship immediately upon completion or termination of full-time studies. When applying for their student visa, they must prove they have sufficient funds for all school + living expenses PLUS return transportation to their country of citizenship. Without working!

Intent to remain beyond the time-purpose of any visa, e.g. student, is visa FRAUD, grounds for visa denial, or revocation with deportation/mandatory departure, and permanent bar to entry. More & more student visa applicants are being denied on the grounds of visa fraud. And Indians are among the worst perpetrators of such fraud. So applicants are being denied student visas by the thousands and tens of thousands. You MUST plan to pursue your career in your own country.

Millions of Indians are trying to get jobs abroad. Frankly, there's a worldwide labor glut of a billion adults already, with another billion on track to enter the world's workforces within the decade. India is the largest single perpetrator of the massive glut. Thus, employment visa requirements are being more & more stringent as fewer occupations are in short supply. Even if you fully qualify for a temporary employment visa somewhere, you can expect stiff competition - it is not unusual to have 100-1000 applicants for one job which offers prospects of a temporary employment visa.
