I have a daughter and for the longest time, I ve not liked her long hair. I feel as if it s way too girly. Plus, I feel as if long hair is meant for older women, in their adult years. The difference with short hair is that it expresses innocence. I feel as if short hair would fit better for a little girl as herself. I also feel as if it s better to break gender norms, and cut her hair. Friday when she came home from school I sat her down and told her that I was going to cut her hair. She was fine with it until I told her that it was going to be short. Moment I told her she got mad and said that she didn t want short hair. I pulled out my scissors and took her to my bathroom. By this time, she was crying her eyes out. I told her to sit down and refused, until I threatened to punish her. I took the scissors and cut it all the way up to her mid-back, shoulders, then chin. She was already broken down crying. I then told her I wasn t done at by the end her hair was like a boy s. Maybe even shorter. I think that it s adorable, but she says it s too short. She needs to get over it. It cuts out the femininity and looks beautiful. I don t get it. It is only hair. Plus, I m her mother, I can do whatever I want to her hair. Me and my husband agree that the short hair is nice. Plus, it s so much easier to maintain. Once again, she needs to get over it.

Getting pregnant when you don’t have the means to support the child is selfish. I’ve argued with religious individuals they say that it’s already written which I do think is true. I also do believe that you have FREE WILL. If you don’t have anything and are living in poverty why conceive ? Why complicate life , and most importantly an innocent human beings life? Why not better your life and circumstances before you decide to procreate. Why be selfish and complicate another persons life ? People in the my community, The Black Community , we have generational curses that we can’t break, such as unplanned pregnancy. We constantly live in poverty and sorrow because we are careless. A person said “birth control is wrong, why would someone create a substance that limits your ability to reproduce” I just feel that you should be considerate of another persons life that’s all. Children are sooo beautiful and a blessing. I just wish things were different. Maybe it’s me. I REALLY NEED ANSWERS

I am 27 years old engaged with a good stable job working for the government along with my fiancé, but currently live with my mom (Fiancé lives with his mom). The plan has always been to look for houses right after the wedding. We already booked a wedding for 12/7/19. I just found out I am pregnant last week and I am very torn. I always wanted children and a family, but it is bad timing and was not planned. The wedding is more than halfway paid for, parents are helping, all the important things have been booked, it surprisingly has been stressless. If I keep the baby the due date would be July 31st. Which would make the baby a little more than 4 months. Is it crazy to bring your own baby to your own wedding? We will have 2 bridal suites which is nice and family is willing to support. What would even be the babies schedule for the day? Don’t babies on and off nap and feed all day? The wedding ceremony would start at 11:30. Or would it make more sense to get a babysitter for the day. I am not sure if we are ready to be parents because of the timing. I do not want a baby to take away from us being able to enjoy our wedding day. I also always told myself I will never truly be ready and will just prepare myself when it happens. My fiancé and our moms all support either decision I make. It is the hardest position I have ever been in. I am not religious, but am afraid I might regret not keeping it. Seeking advice and curious what others would do in my position please.

  • What’s that feeling of having a first baby?

I’m single so far but I always had that doubt in my mind what people who are expecting both men and woman feel when they realize they’ll be sad/mom for the first time.

He says the baby isn’t his and I didn’t initially believe it was his Baby from the story he told me at first but now that he has lied and the girl keeps contacting me and his family I don’t know how to feel. I can’t really tell if the baby looks like him and he get mad whenever anyone brings it up. We’ve been together for over two years and this is the third time she’s reached out to us. I don’t see myself staying with him if it is his baby cause he knew there was a chance the baby could be his and he has taken no action what so ever to get a test done or even try to see the child. Am I wrong for being mad that he hasn’t taken any type of action????
