Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

Unable to take part in animation school this year, I have resorted to self-teaching myself until the opportunity arises once more. I'm taking a rather serious approach to this as well. For example, there are those who find themselves okay with a second or third place trophy. I, on the other hand, aim for that first place position. My passion alone is currently the only thing pushing me towards my goal; to become the most superb computer animator out there. So I ask, are there any 3D, perhaps even traditional animators who can share this insight on what it takes and perhaps even some recommendations on books, online courses, and other activities that can shape me in my venture to become a remarkable animator!

What are the strong points in my friends art?

Best answer: First impression...love it; the central theme is one of hopelessness. And that comes through big time.

But on second impression it appears the figure was cut and paste. For example, the hands look like they were made from one image but it was reversed to make the second hand. Ditto the sleeves.

For reference, I'm drawing a narwhal that is facing the front and since its horn is pointing in the same direction, it is essentially a circle and a dot on its face without shading. Since a narwhal's horn decreases in diameter as it stretches from the face, but it is so drastically in front of its body, should the perspective dictate that the point of the horn is wider than the base? I don't know if this is a stupid question since I can't find any tips on this anywhere else, and artists seem to just avoid this altogether and draw the horn just straight up even though the face is straight forward.

I just don't understand it sometimes. My older brother who's incarcerated drew me a cool chicano art piece of two cholas making out dropping hot spit into the other ones mouth and one chola licking the barrel of a gun at the bottom of the page. Thing is it was UNBELIEVABLE. Thing is It looked like a black and white photo because it was so good, the shading and everything was just on point. How does one get that good though? I really want to gets good as he is one day. I asked him one day over the phone I remember and he said "just practice, keep keep practicing"

  • What should I draw/paint at my first art class?

It's just a casual community class for folks with mental health difficulties, so there's no formal 'class' but rather you're left you to your own devices. But not sure what to try drawing or painting, joys of depression means my creativity is zapped, so just looking for some inspiration.

Nature is in the constitutes of the brain, and body, we all have abilities, they are handed down from parents, sometimes less of one and more of the other, or even older ancestors, health of the body relies on the conduits of the mother, and the stability of the DNA code of the two parents, those allow the growth of the embryo and fetus to continue and mold into shape of well integrated body, brain included, it’s goes on with cerebral design and cortex folds in place, when the fetus forms the hemispheres, that is where the abilities lie in formation to gather information and apply to the bodies functions as hand to eye motor skills,

Some learn to draw, Some learn to read, some learn to learn, how we are brought up and exposed to nature, is what we learn by limiters, if we drop three twins in three different scenarios at birth, they will have same learningnabilities, per se, but one lands in a Cave with hand paintings, another lands in a Pyramid with hieroglyphics, another dropped in the middle of a Stonehenge, they will learn different skills through traits and behaviours as abilities, change those perameters, and their abilities change, just an example.

in your case you probably have some nature to these abilities, exposure to elements that enhanced and inspired directives, Synaptics work in depthly ways, something in your memory pathways allows you to create or recreate objectives, maybe photographic memory, maybe abridged, maybe missing neural patterns, maybe having new ones, sort of evolved to another level of genius.
