• Should I invest in Copic markers?

So I'm eleven years old, and I know you might think I'm insane, but I want to buy Copic markers. I'm very passionate about my art and I think Copics will benefit me. I know a lot about them, so I don't need very much more info on the markers. I'm not sure if I really should get them, though. I don't want to invest in something I don't use. I don't quite know what I'm good at yet. I'm trying to practice shading and understand the anatomy of mammals. I also enjoy doing fantasy-like sceneries and other things. Nothing too extraordinary. Usually I use references, and most of my drawings are sketches. I hope that Copic markers will help make my art more lively, but, like I said, I don't know if I should invest right now. I might consider some of the cheaper alternatives, such as Prismacolor or Spectrum Noir. I still don't know, and would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks for reading my long question!

Hi I'm Daniel Harrison and my art has the highest ratings on artfeedback.com (I bested 4.4 out of 5 over 3 times). There is only one work of art with 4.4 or higher on artfeedback if you fail to include my art. Despite the massively high ratings that I'm getting I only got like 20-32 views for my art on yourartgallery.com and no one bought anything so I'm baffled as to why it's so unpopular. Please check out my art at this link by me (Daniel Harrison). I have the highest rated art on artfeedback dot com out of all the works of art submitted there (around 1000). Please buy a print I'm not charging a lot for one I worked really hard on them... https://www.yourartgallery.com/search.ph... My art has been on the site for about 1 to 2 weeks now and I still am locked in at around 25 views. There's art with 1500 views on the site and the site was made pretty recently as far as I know... To make matters worse I spent 2 and a half hours trying to sell my apparently genius level art and I only got 30 dollars plus 14 dollars worth of stuff that I would have trouble selling.. Unless that's a lot of money to people.. Picasso's art goes for millions of dollars and I'm way more talented and I have trouble selling my art for 5 dollars per drawing. I even put 2 famous expensive works of art worth millions on artfeedback.com that were by famous artists (not me of course) and their art only got 2.3 and 2.4.

  • Why are masculine faces harder to draw?

I struggle so much drawing masculine faces but don’t have a hard time with feminine faces... am I the only one? Is it because I’m a female myself?

I just might give that a try, I've always been right-handed, maybe trying the leftie thing might expand my mind. I could just become a frickin' genius.

But to answer your question. The human brain is a marvellous thing, it can adapt to all kinds of conditions. You've just presented your brain with some new conditions, like the left-handed thing. Throw it a curve-ball and start using your right hand again. Don't worry, the confusion that your brain is going through won't make it to your ability to make logical decisions.

But thanks for your Q, you've gotten me curious.

Best answer: If you like the look of lines drawn with pen, consider drawing with a small sable brush, not the smallest size but one of the smallest. This may seem strange to you, but there's nothing comic book artists can do with pens that can't be done with sable brush, and many prefer brush because it's easier to control and, some think, looks better. The method is to draw with pencil on Bristol board, finish with ink, and erase the pencil.

Other materials - good ink like Speedball Super India Ink, and acrylic gesso, which makes a good correction fluid. Thinned with a little water and polished with something like a spoon, you can draw over it.

On a budget, the fine-line Sharpie pen is pretty good, and you can draw on ordinary copy paper. You can't make corrections easily but the paper is thin and easy to see through with a light box.
