  • Wall TV Mounts?

This is probably a dumb question but I'm gonna ask anyway. If you want to hang your tv on the wall does it need to be a flat screen tv. Every tv wall mount I've seen has always said "for flat tv screens". I probably just answered my question that's why I said it was dumb. I hope I'm wrong... show more

  • TV won't pick up some UK Freeview channels.?

I have a Panasonic Viera TX-32LZD81 TV which won't pick up some Freeview channels such as Drama (20), 5USA (21) or Horror (70). Retuning doesn't make any difference and I have a smaller non-Panasonic TV which does pick them up so I don't think it can be related to the local transmitter. Both TVs use... show more

Any ideas on how to fix this (not - subscribe to a cable service!)?

Or am i better off spending £700 on a good HD 1080p TV? There are so many that i have no idea what to choose. I don’t really want to spend £700 on a 4k TV and it ends up being not very good because it is cheap. Thank you!

How can I fix my TV? (Picture)?

It just randomly started doing these white lines, and it's only doing it for a very specific part of the screen as you see. Halp.

  • What does 4K mean when purchasing a TV?

Best answer: It's a misnomer. You are to pretend that the horizonal resolution is 4000 pixels (4096 for the picky) but it isn't. Instead, it is twice the HD dimentions both horizontal and vertical. The resolution is 3840 pixels wide by 2160 pixels tall. What 4K is NOT is UHD. Ultra High Definition has the same... show more

What 4K is NOT is UHD. Ultra High Definition has the same resolution but uses more than 8 bits per color. The 8 bits means that you have 256 shades of red. Something called HDR10 uses 10 bits for 1024 shades of red (4 * 256) and another called DolbyVision uses 12 bits (4096 shades). The enhanced color depth is the real reason to get a 4K set as most of us can't see the resolution difference unless we are close.

I'll let you into a secret - I've got the usual TV in my home however, I discovered a long time ago that there's plenty of 'free' TV available online - here's a Google link to many such:

Thus no one needs to buy and pay for an expensive TV set - a laptop or even a cell phone will do the job.

He spends a good amount of time in his bed watching Netflix and YouTube already, but plays soccer year round about 10 hours a week and goes to the gym 5ish times a week for over and hour. He also is a straight A student and a good kid, but I just feel uncomfortable with a big TV in his room. I told him I'd think about it, but as he pointed out I don't really have any reasons aside from feeling uncomfortable about it.
