I've researched the Tacoma and know why it's a great truck but idk anything about Jeeps, other than I think they're pretty haha Well, that and I take them up to the mountains, which is why I was leaning towards a truck. Any advice on what to to look for and what to stay away from when buying a used Jeep? Mileage wise, how long does the engine last? Thanks in advance

  • Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005. blower on air conditioning and heater will only work on high. Any ideas?

my blower on air conditioning and heater will only work on high. Intermittently, it will work at all four levels. I took it in and they replaced some baffles which they stated were stuck. It was making an awful noise then. After a few months now this. Not throwing any codes. Any ideas. Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005

  • How much willl the Junk Yard give me for my Car?

Best answer: You don't HAVE a "COUPLE GZ" to pay it off. Until, you can't sell it without the title, even to a scrap yard. When you finally do sell it, they're only going to pay for the weight in scrap, which, for a car, is about $120 per ton. Your car would go for around $240-$300. Told you man, there... show more

Told you man, there is no easy way out. One way or another, you're going to pay for your crap cars. Even if they repo them, you're still going to pay for them.

Clearly all Trump ever really had for a campaign platform was name calling, fake accusations, and wild, unachievable claims of what he would do. And now he and his supporters have nothing to go on beside attacking an opponent that was defeated well over a year ago. That's just sad.

  • 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 Not Starting?

Best answer: Your spare key isn't a valid transponder key. Many locksmiths will come out and make you a new transponder key on the spot.
Why in the world would you buy a new battery?

I ended up buying a Nissan Pathfinder instead and found it to be better in almost every way. Motor Trend only rates the Cherokee 3 out of 5 stars. I owned a Jeep Wagoneer once and it was an awful vehicle. My happiest day of ownership is the day I got rid of it. Everyone I've ever known who has owned a Jeep of any description has never owned a second one. I think you'll find that to be a common story. I'd recommend the Pathfinder or the Rogue instead, or a Toyota RAV4. I've had 3 Toyota trucks and two Nissans never had a problem with any of them.

Well, now I’m faced with the same issue and my question is if I have a mechanic flush out my entire cooling system because it does it it, will that remedy the issue of the heater core as well, or does it need that AND that heater core to be flushed individually?

  • Whats the ticking noise in the motor? Jeep grand cherokee 4.7 2001?

I'm not exactly sure how I'm supposed to explain the sound its making, it sounds like a very loud tick or a tap. Only happens when I give it gas and then it will stop. Or it will start again if I have it in park the ticking or tapping will start for five minutes then it will go away its an on and off issue.... show more
I'm not exactly sure how I'm supposed to explain the sound its making, it sounds like a very loud tick or a tap. Only happens when I give it gas and then it will stop. Or it will start again if I have it in park the ticking or tapping will start for five minutes then it will go away its an on and off issue. Everyone's saying the motor is shot blah blah. Its not. It runs perfectly fine besides that issue and it would've went already on the past owner and the owner before that. Ive read it can be the lifters which the noise sounds like it or the flex plate so its a very tough one to figure out. My question is, how do I figure out for sure if its the lifters without ripping everything apart? And if it is the lifters am I better off leaving those alone or replacing right away? I read that if you replace them there's a certain thing you have to do and if you dont do it right it your motor is completely gone. For anyone who's gonna bash me for buying a "Chrysler piece of junk" you're irrelevant. I buy cars like this and fix them its my hobby and keeps me busy. This is just something I'm not familiar with and wanna be careful.

recently just bought a jeep with a slight engine tick. It only does it when its cold but when its warmed up it starts to quiet down, just wondering if anyone knows the cause? Can it be the flex plate, to thin of oil or is my motor shot?

Best answer: That is the engine coolant reservoir which holds extra coolant for the system. You can look at side of it for the minimum and maximum marks and make sure the level is in between them you can open the yellow cap and look inside the reservoir too. Only when the engine is cold after not being driven for a while (don't do it when engine is hot or it will shoot out extremely hot coolant and burn yourself) you'll want remove the radiator cap aka coolant pressure cap (shown in picture below) and check to make sure the coolant is filled to the top. If you find the coolant level is pretty low you'll want to go to a local Chrysler dealer service department where they will check for coolant leaks which can be deadly to the engine and top off the coolant with the proper Mopar coolant.
