  • When is the best time to drive between LA to Los Vegas? I left LA 11/22 and traffic was horrid. I left LV 11/25 and traffic was great.?

Best answer: Well, you picked the worst possible day to leave LA: The day before Thanksgiving. And on your return trip, I assume you left early in the day, since I returned from Las Vegas that same day, but later in the afternoon. Traffic was pretty bad. It's just a matter of hitting the road when others aren't on it. I thought I'd be fine leaving Saturday, but others must have had the same idea. Typically, Friday afternoons are the worst when leaving LA, and Sundays are the worst when coming back. Thursday nights can also be bad. I've driven out on a Friday morning (early) and had no problems.

  • Whats a good 4 day itinerary for Los angeles?

I'd like a relaxed itinerary, not one which is packed and super exhausting(about 2 places p/d). I'm interested in nature and parks, beaches, museums, good architecture, hiking, good food and Yosemite.

  • Things to do for an aspiring tv/film actor visiting LA?

I'm going to visit Los Angeles soon and am visiting some universities. I have a couple days open and I'm looking into studio tours (Warner Bros, Paramount, etc). What else is there to do (activities, shows...) to immerse myself in the entertainment industry while I'm there?

  • How do you prepay property taxes in California?

If you still want to pay your property taxes this year, is it enough to just get a postal stamp from this year and send a check by mail? Or do they physically have to receive it?

FYI the demographics has changed quite a bit but it's still the same shyt. Gangs, drugs, corrupted police, etc it might be worse cause its alot more wide open now people used to mainly hang out in the neighborhoods now you got taco stands and more business attracting crowds at main streets. What helped Compton many years ago was new street rules, like no gangbanging over colors like red. blue, green, brown, etc but only over territory, money, and respect issues, and no drive- by shooting zones gotta get out the car to put in work in many hoods

Road tax is built into the price of gasoline. The US has no such thing as council tax. Instead, if you rent, any local taxes are included in your rent.

You pay income tax but that will be deducted from your pay by your employer and most states have a sales tax on most goods you buy.

However most Americans also pay for cable TV so they can get the better channels not offered on broadcast TV. Also some places chage separately for garbage collection and sewer charges like in Las Vegas,

If you buy a house in the USA you will pay property tax to pay for municipal taxes.

There’s been a lot said about how bad the traffic is in LA. However, I’ve been to SoCal a number of times, and from my experience, it really doesn’t appear to be that bad. I’m from Portland, OR, and from years of experience driving in Portland, the traffic here is much worse than SoCal, and it’s continuing to worsen. During most traffic jams I’ve been caught in throughout the LA and San Diego areas, I am exceeding 20 or 30 mph most of the time, even during rush hour. Furthermore, the carpool lanes are rarely even that slow. On the other hand, I have spent well over an hour going 5-10 miles in the Portland area numerous times. I suppose you may have to drive farther in LA, but I feel like most people would rather spend an hour commuting 20 miles than an hour commuting 5 miles. In other words, it seems to me like LA traffic jams go on for more miles, but are generally not that slow compared to other major metro areas. Is the traffic really that bad in LA, or is it just overstated? I have considered moving to the area.
