Today as I was reaching for one, I noticed that one had some white stuff on it and the peel had turned a weird whitish/greyish color.     Food itself is not healthy nor is it unhealthy. It is how much of the less healthy stuff we consume that determines how it might be classified.

My mother uses some that's at least 75 years old. No copper is visible on it, and no one in the family gets sick after eating at my mother's house.
