Best answer: Lifelong Seahawks fan here, I love your enthusiasm but I can't get myself to be that optimistic about a sub .500 team that hasn't beaten anyone with a winning record.

I think it comes down to 5 teams:
The NFC will be between the Rams & Saints. They'll probably take the top 2 playoff seeds and barring a huge upset they'll face each other in the NFC Championship game. Who wins is a toss up and might be determined by injuries between now & then. If there are no injuries, I give my nod to the Saints based on their experience (Brees & Payton) compared with the relative inexperience of the Rams.

In the AFC its the Chiefs, The overlooked Chargers, and the always relevant Patriots. Again, which one emerges from the conference championship may come down to which team is healthiest at playoff time. This one is more of a toss up. The Pats have the experience but look like the weakest of the 3 and currently aren't in position for the first round bye. My prediction is the Chiefs because I just don't trust Phillip Rivers to come through when it matters.

in the Superbowl I think the Saints experience carries them to a win over the Chiefs.

I hope I'm wrong & you're right, because the Hawks are my team, but they're 4-5 with several tough opponents still in front of them and all 4 wins coming against lousy opponents. At this point it will be a miracle if they can even snag the last wildcard spot.

The former Cleveland Browns head coach is joining the Cincinnati Bengals' coaching staff as special assistant to the head coach, effective immediately, the team announced Tuesday. "I have a great comfort level with Hue and his ability to assist me with the day-to-day responsibilities on defense, including analyzing our opponents and helping me on game days with the players and defensive coaches," Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said. Jackson was fired by the Browns less than two weeks ago after compiling a 3-36-1 record over two-plus seasons with the team.

He also inherits Jim Harbaugh's All Pro offense featuring two probowl TE's, Marvin Harrison (had close to 800yds through 12 games before he got hurt), Marshall Faulk then latter Edgerrin James. No Tom Moore. Moore made Scott Mitchell an All Pro QB with the Lions in 97. Manning had him forever in Indy. Also no Bill Polian changing rules for him or giving him the idea to steal Buffalo's K Gun offense. Polian was with the Bills during the Jim Kelly era. BQ: Would Ryan Leaf have been a bust if Indy drafted him? Somehow I doubt it.
