Best answer: No, it's not supposed to hurt.

The pain was most likely due to micro-tears in vaginal walls and around the vaginal opening, when you urinate the urine is hitting the small tears thus causing discomfort - the urethra may have also been agitated during sex which can cause pain too. Try to drink more water to prevent a UTI developing, and pour warm water over your vulva as you pee to reduce discomfort.

The idea it's supposed to hurt the first time is MYTH - that's not to say that it can't hurt, but there's little reason why the first time specifically should hurt, pain happens for a reason and thus it's preventable - if you experience pain during sex then you know something is wrong, you should stop and address the cause. In most cases pain during sex is due to lack of full arousal (vagina relaxes, lubricates, opens, increases in size, and tents) and/or tensing-up so engage in more 'foreplay' next time.

Best answer: It's possible that you're inserting it incorrectly, it's too big for you, or the brand you're using is terrible.

    How to insert a tampon:
    1. Keep the hard applicator on. Do not remove. Trying to insert the tampon without the applicator will be like trying to shove cloth up your V. It will burn and likely be unsuccessful.
    2. Remember that your V is not straight. It's angled. Press the tampon against your area and wiggle it around a bit to find the entrance to your V. Then push it in.
    3. It may hurt if your V is not lubricated a little bit. Some people use their own saliva or water to help them insert it. Using saliva may be unsanitary, though, and cause bacteria buildup. I still do it, but I'm just giving you a fair warning.
    4. Shove the tampon in as far as you can without hurting yourself.
    5. Push the tampon out of its applicator and at the same time, pull the applicator out of your V.
    6. The string must hang outside of your V if you want to pull it out later.

Tip: Some people have no problem getting the tampon in, but some have trouble gripping the tampon applicator to push it out (I use Tampax Pearl). For this brand, get some tissue to help you grab the base so the friction helps you grip it.

Best answer: Even if there had been "stuff" ("precum") on your fingers, it would be highly unlikely to cause pregnancy. "Precum" is nothing more than male lubrication fluid, and 97% of the time, it doesn't contain sperm cells.
There's a reason why a male has to penetrate you and sperm cells have to be forcefully ejaculated deep inside the vagina. Even if there had been a few live sperm cells in "precum", a sperm cell has to travel from inside your vagina, through the cervix, into the uterus, and then into a Fallopian tube where an egg would be fertilized (assuming there was an egg in your Fallopian tube at the time), in order to cause pregnancy. That's NOT likely to happen from "precum". Any few sperm cells in "precum" aren't that "lively" - so to speak.
Besides, you said you were both wearing underwear. Even the most lively and potent sperm cells cannot penetrate fabric.
Go ahead and take the morning-after pill, if you want to; but it's not necessary. If you take it, all that's going to happen is you're going to dump a huge load of unneeded artificial hormones into your body and mess up your menstrual cycle for the next 2 months.

Best answer: If you don't want to a PAP smear, or any vaginal examination, then don't have one - you have every right not to consent, merely being at the appointment isn't consent, the doctor still needs your consent before and during the examination (you can stop at any time). You shouldn't just take Valium, you need to feel in control and chose to have the examination.

Your feelings are valid, the vast majority of people have vaginal examinations without any issues at all - it shouldn't hurt or make you feel bad, it's just like any other medical examination - but that doesn't mean everyone feels comfortable with them and they can be traumatic for some people just like if anyone else was to touch their genitals if they're not okay with this.

You need to think about why you had this reaction: Have you past sexual trauma?
Was it just as you didn't consent, and if so consider why you didn't feel you were able to say no.

Short-term treat it a little bit like a sexual trauma, take some time focus on self-care to help make yourself feel better and don't beat yourself up about how you feel (or let others give you a hard time for it) - instead try to figure out why you feel this way and think about how to better deal with that in future. Long-term I strongly suggest you talk to a therapist about how you feel about this experience, but also about why you're having this strong a response to a medical examination, this isn't normal.

  • Is masturbating with a vibrator often bad for you?

Could it cause me to become addicted or maybe dependent? I only do it two or three times a week. I don't have a boyfriend so that's the only time I do anything.

Turns out, my hymen is in the way (yes i’m a virgin), and I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried moving it around a little, I’ve tried reading it up on the web, I’ve tried different positions, and I’ve tried removing the applicator and just using the actual tampon with my fingers. Also tried sticking a finger up there. It gets uncomfortable first, then it starts to hurt the further I try to push it. I’ve tried relaxation techniques. NOTHING works and I’m scared!
