Best answer: Without getting their permission to use their card (or having a standing arrangement in place), you will likely get into some degree of trouble with them. If you're planning to reimburse them for your purchase, they're more likely willing to let it slide with little incidence. The major issue that might run across is a violation of trust.

The only time I ran into this issue was that I accidentally charged a few things on their card as I didn't pay attention to the payment method (their card is on file as they elected to cover a family subscription). I told them about the issue & reimbursed them for the charges (with a little extra, since I didn't want to deal with small change). My sister-in-law accidentally used their card (being in the same family group) for a much, much smaller charge that I asked about (since I'm managing the family group & thus get notified of purchases on the "family card"). My parents weren't too concerned about the charges as long as they knew about them (just to avoid surprised when reviewing the bill) & that they were covered.

I don't know how your parents will react (as you know them better than strangers), so proceed at your own risk here.

  • Why do people prefer hard games?

Best answer: Because they are not afraid of losing. Especially when there is nothing really important at stake. Some people like to set the "hard" difficulty on their computer games, because they are hoping for a real challenge, something that will take several attempts to conquer. If the stakes were high, like you were playing a poker game for the fate of an entire nation, then obviously that would be a lot more serious, and not necessarily fun. But that is a hypothetical scenario...

Best answer: I don't think it's really in dispute? Back when people fought wars with melee weapons, spears were always the dominant weapon type, including variants of it, such as the javelin, pike, lance, or polearms. As you correctly say, the reach is a powerful advantage and will outclass a sword in many situations. Plus they were cheap, easily replaced, didn't really need any maintenance, and it's an easy weapon to learn. You can line people up in rows, with a second row holding their spear through the gap between two people in front. The Romans did it, the Spartans did it, and the Greeks did it. Rows of swordsmen would all get in the way of each other when they start swinging, and a back row is stood idle waiting for the front to get killed.

Single handed swords (arming swords) were a backup weapon. They were easily carried, much more easily than trying to carry a replacement for your main weapon. People who primarily fought with a sword weapon, used huge two-handed blades that most definitely could compete against a spear. They were also expensive and much harder to master.

You could compare a sword to a modern handgun, people carry them because they are light and can be concealed if necessary. But a soldier will have a rifle and the handgun will be their backup sidearm.

-It's VERY hard to find one at a reasonable price anymore. Most places that still sell them charge WAAAAAAAY more than what it's worth.

-You practically have to sell a kidney to afford a memory card, and the largest size is only 64 GB

-Most of the Vita's few good games have already been ported elsewhere, and the ports are typically 10x better than actually playing it on a Vita.

-99.9% of vita games are pervy Japanese visual novels.

-Not sure if this limited to my Vita, but it constantly corrupts it's own memory card somehow.
    ___________

Also, I would STRONGLY suggest NOT buying a 3DS from Gamestop if possible. They have a tendency to sell opened items as "new", and their "premium refurbished" consoles are NOT handled with care. I purchased a premium refurbished DS from GS in the past, that had tons of dirt particles under the screen.
