  • Dealing with people who say I should sell my knitting, what is a kinder way of saying I only like it as a hobby rather than a business?

Best answer: I have the same problem but mine is baking. In fact, I have a side business baking and I initially thought I wanted to own a bakery. Everyone says I should sell my stuff, etc etc, you know what I mean. But that takes all the joy and the fun out of it because it adds pressure and uncertainty...when you put a price tag on something, you're kind of subjecting it to scrutiny and judgment...which also takes all the fun out of it...which is partly why I don't want to own a bakery anymore. I love baking but on MY terms and MY timetable.
So, my answer is, "For me, putting a price tag on it takes the fun out of it. But thank you so much for the compliment, I do love to knit and I'm glad it shows."

  • Character copyright infringement?

Can I make a storybook character doll? A few ladies and myself are doing a giveaway of handmade dolls and want them to be storybook themed. Would it be illegal? We make them in our own style dressed like a certain character. For example Pippi Longstocking or Madeline?

While there is no legal requirement to ask for permission it's a good idea to do so because you can then agree royalty payments in installments instead of being slapped with a big bill later on, or they may even agree to let you use their stuff for free, who knows, some have done that with just the requirement that you credit them.

  • What kind of sword is this?

My grandma say her dad left her this sword and it is from oversees. He got it in the military. Also, the sheath may not match the sword because she has another sword and sheath that was stolen and the sword doesn’t fit in this sheath. If you can, please tell me which sword was stolen. Thanks!

It is going to be floor length and red, for a cosplay from one of my favourite podcasts! I have purchased the McCall's Costumes M6420 sewing pattern for a guideline, but was wondering if anyone with cosplay, sewing, or other costume creating experience had any input on the best fabric to use.

But when it comes down to it, don't think too hard about finding a hobby! Do what you enjoy doing. Play sports, watch tv, hang out with friends--whatever makes your face light up! That's what a hobby is meant to do.

  • Is it plausible for me to get 6-8 hours of sleep,go to school, and do my hobby for around 8 hours in one day?

Best answer: There are 24 hours in a day.
6-8 hours of sleep would leave you with 16-18 hours.
School is about 6 hours, leaving 10-12 hours.
You need time for other things (getting ready, eating, getting to and from school, completing homework, etc.). As long as that is under 4 hours, you still have 8 hours for your hobby.
