  • Why are there so few Christians on this site willing to defend the traditional position of hell as eternal, conscious torment?

The New Testament clearly teaches it - Jesus's references to the fire that will never be quenched, Revelation's discussion of the beast being tormented day and night, the fact that Josephus talked about the Jews of Jesus's day believing in eternal punishment (as do Apocryphal books like Judith), etc. ... show more

Why do you attempt to be nicer than your own savior instead of trying to make a defense for hell?

  • 'You cant prove God doesn't exist' I heard a theist 'argue' but how can you prove something that you dont even believe exists?

Isnt up to the person claiming 'God/s' existence to prove there is a god, seems to me that is just a lazy argument in a long list of outrageous arguments coming from theists. Another one I see is 'Look around atheists that is all god' but when I look around I just see technology built by science... show more

  • Question to atheists. If man is by default having no God or not believing in Gods see the details.?

Best answer: Probably yes. It might have been an atheist who made up the first stories about gods. It might have been a story teller who realized that he could have a better life if others believed his stories and who

Religion is a story telling industry. Priests jobs depend on people believing their stories to be true.

Best answer: That is a good point. While some of the Church Fathers did write some comments about the Jews like "The Jews are in error", "The Jews rejected God", etc. no where do you see in the history of Christianity a call by any saint to take up violence. Just the fact Martin Luther called for the killing of Jews, peasants, Catholic clergy, and even the death of Pope himself proves he was not a man of God. If Luther was not a man of God then his movement was started on false pretenses and is false itself.

Death mask taken of Martin Luther.

You can read about some of his other insane comments Luther made like saying Jesus is really the devil.

  • Christians, why do you have to die to go to heaven? Why can't this god of yours just take you there when you've done enough praying?

Anyone of a sceptical nature might think it's so no one can contradict your priests.

The existence of an orderly universe containing life points to a Creator. The Bible says: “Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but the one who constructed all things is God.” (Hebrews 3:4) Although this logic is simple, many well-educated people find it to be powerful. * As humans, we have an innate desire to understand the meaning and purpose of life, a type of hunger that can remain after our physical needs have been met. This is part of what the Bible calls our “spiritual need,” which includes the desire to know and worship God. (Matthew 5:3;Revelation 4:11) This spiritual need not only gives evidence that God exists but also indicates that he is a loving Creator who wants us to satisfy that need.—Matthew 4:4. Detailed prophecies in the Bible were written centuries ahead of time and came true exactly as predicted. The accuracy and detail of those predictions strongly suggest that they came from a superhuman source.—2 Peter 1:21.

  • According to the Bible the vast majority of humans will go to eternal hellfire, isn't that proof God loves animals more than us?

See Matthew 7:13-14, Revelation 20:13-14, etc. So a few people get to go to heaven, and the vast majority will be eternally tortured. And yet there's nothing in the Bible about dolphins, elephants, donkeys, etc. going to hell forever. Isn't this proof that God shows far more love and compassion for animals... show more

Tbh if that's what God is like, I'd rather be with Satan - he seems like a total bro.
