I’m 16, female, and on birth control pills and nasofan. so a few minutes ago my vision started flickering quite fast, in both eyes. It looked like the lights in the room were dimming and getting brighter repeatedly (they weren’t). it seems to have stopped now. I went for a regular eye test about 2 months ago, and everything was fine aside from one small dark floater that I still have. Over the last few weeks I’ve noticed my vision changing. I’ve been experiencing the entopic phenomena, but on light backgrounds as well as the sky (sparks, dots, etc). I’ve also noticed a blurry spot at the centre of my vision, seemingly both eyes, that seems to spin, especially when I close my eyes. Several times upon waking I’ve also seen a pattern which went away after a minute or so, which seems to change. The first few mornings it was transparent wavy lines, then a honeycomb pattern, then a black and white pinwheel. This isn’t every morning, but the majority. Also, in bright light conditions, I tend to see black dots that move quite quickly towards the centre of my vision then disappear. This will remain until I move out of the bright light. My vision seems to be quite static, especially in dim light and the dark. I’ve had increased afterimages too. This is all becoming very distracting. Has anyone got any idea what might be going on? I’ve asked my parents to take me to get my eyes checked but they say my eyes are fine and that I’m being dramatic. I do have anxiety if it’s relevant.

My only trouble is, I have nothing wrong with my eyes so my opticians are not willing to give me a prescription for contact lens which means I can't get those vital numbers. Is there any way around this?

  • I can’t tell red from green is it possible that I am an Alien 👽?

Best answer: Yes. It's possible that aliens seeded earth with life. It definitely seems more plausible than a God just magically starting life, but science doesn't preclude the possibility of a God or gods having started the universe.

In a nutshell, we just don't know and anyone claiming that they do know doesn't understand science.

The eye works by two different types of neurons (nerves) in your eye: rods which see shapes and lines and cones which perceive colored light frequencies.

Mother Nature being ever economical, uses the same neurons for both red light detection and green light detection.

When stimulated, some say red, some say green. The brain takes a vote and ascribes whichever color that wins.

Sometimes these nerves don't work as well and fire equally when stimulated by red and green light.

The brain cannot decide which color to ascribe, so it makes up a color which is often thought of as gray by regular folks but is more like a low light green/dried blood.

From what I understand, I have a pretty low prescription and I don't really struggle without my glasses at home. I was recently on a trip with my friend and my glasses happened to break while we were outside. I really had a hard time navigating and would have been completely lost without her help. Is it normal for someone with -2.75 to be so dependent?

Best answer: Reading glasses from the drugstore will only provide a problem with accommodation, the inability to focus on objects close to your eye. It's a typical ailment related to aging. Anyway, the drugstore reading glasses will only function for the bi-focal part of your glasses and not the far vision section. They are magnifiers only and do not meet your prescription requirements. Looking at your numbers and my experience with prescriptions (I recently slept in a Holiday Inn Express), you can probably function without but not as well as when you had prescription glasses. That can be frustrating.
