• Do you think what my dad told me as a kid was bad?

He always said "Engineering is the best career field by far. If you want to get a good job, that's what you have to try to get a job in." Then if I ever mentioned another career path, he would say it's bad.

  • Why do people look down on those who work in McDonalds?

Best answer: Everyone works hard so they don't need to work in fast food...but everyone needs to start somewhere.

Honestly, some people are just miserable and they take it out on those they consider less than themselves...when in reality, anyone being rude to a fast food worker is the problem.

  • Co-worker complained about the noise from the date stamp?

Best answer: Ask your boss for a stamp that causes less noise. This lady must have ADD if she's distracted by that.
Maybe you should talk to HR about the complaint, and let them know that you've done nothing wrong.

I applied for a position upon graduation in May. So I had my recorded video interview, got through. Then it was the Super day on 1/25, which I also passed. Two weeks ago, I had my one-to-one video conference interview with the manager and I think that went well. I waited a couple days and I got a competing offer from somewhere else. I emailed the recruiter at my preferred company the next day and told her that I had a competing offer that was giving me two weeks to decide. She emailed me back the next day (Wednesday) thanking me for telling her and that they would work with my offer deadline and have an answer for me either that afternoon or the next day. Heard nothing back. Emailed again on Monday, and she replied that night around 8 PM that they would finalize a decision in the next day or two. Still haven’t heard anything back. I’m being as patient as possible but it’s hard when everything is up in the air. Can someone shed some light on what’s happening here? They said they would work with my offer deadline but it’s slowly approaching and I haven’t gotten a straight answer. What should I do?

As a result, three of my coworkers have resigned over the last few months. I feel like I don’t have a way out because my boss is counting on me, and I feel the pressure to stay. I’m unhappy, and I know I need to leave, but is it wrong for me to leave after so many other people have? I don’t want to hurt my boss or the business and I want to leave respectfully. But I’m unsure how to do so.

  • Is my Walmart manager allowed to demote me because another associate wants their old position back?

    Best answer: (1)

    That really sucks.

The likelihood is that, your promotion was contingent upon
    the other person’s departure.

Since that person didn’t actually depart yet, the spot isn’t
    officially vacated.

This is just a manner of reasoning.

    (2)

You can always call your company’s Human Resources
Department but make it clear that your call is merely an
inquiry to see if the procedure of offering you the position
and immediately taking it away from you is compliant with
    Walmart’s policy.

Clarify that you are not complaining about your manager.
You are simply disappointed that you will not get the pro-
motion and you wish to find out if it was handled properly
    procedurally.

You should also verify that no ‘demotion’ appears on your
record in the company file. If a title-change was made in the
system it may appear in the future that you were demoted.
If the reason is not evident in your company profile then it
may seem, in the future that, you were demoted for some
bad reason if no reason is clarified in your profile..

    (3)

So when you call HR you can say that you are calling about
the profile concern and while you are on the phone you
thought of asking if the demotion procedure applied to you
    was handled properly.
