• How did a show as lame and unfunny as Married...With Children last for 11 seasons?

Do people just have bad taste and actually find that entertaining? The only thing that show had going for it was that it was very edgy for that time. But if that show had come out today it would seem like nothing.

  • Won't it taser you too if you are holding the person as you taser them?

Best answer: Unless the bad guys were wearing gloves with insulators in them (thick, rubber gloves would do) then it should. It would also be prevented if they were grabbing a part of the victim's clothing that insulates- rubber, for instance, or Teflon. Basically, it would electrocute the bad guys as well as their victims unless there was some sort of insulator between the perpetrator's hand(s) and the victim's body.

    God bless you!

  • Worse show: The Big Bang Theory or Everybody Loves Raymond?

Best answer: Raymond by far. Big Bang was actually decent in the first few seasons before it became so relationship based. Raymond was always terrible and lowered the IQ's of anybody who watched it.

Office on the other hand was consistently funny up until it's last season, and that's despite the cringe-worthy Michael Scott. Jim & Pam & Dwight were a riot, and of the other supporting character only Mindy was unfunny...and yet somehow got a spinoff of her own.

They are funny but I can't imagine anyone actually acting that ridiculous in real life and they would definitely be laughed at.

  • Why is Apu from "The Simpsons" offensive?

Best answer: Almost EVERYONE on the Simpsons is offensive. It's part of the show's deal. Groundskeeper Willy, Fat Tony, and just about everyone whose ethnicity is detectable is defined by that ethnicity's stereotypes. Those characters who aren't generally have other traits that are stereotyped. So is Apu... show more

So is Apu offensive? Yeah. He's kind of MEANT TO BE. He's an exagerration of stereotypes for the purposes of comedy. Rather than getting upset about it though, we need to be thicker skinned as a society and just admit that stereotypes are dumb. We can laugh at them, and ourselves, and move on with life.

  • Do you think Roseanne reruns will ever air again?

Best answer: They may bring it back when things simmer down. You could always look for a box set of discs. Currently ebay sells the whole series for about $28, with free shipping. Good luck.

Best answer: I have seen every episode! Was funny watching little Sophia try to boss around big tall Dorothy.

Dorothy was the only sane one though she had a competitive streak and struggled with smoking and gambling.

They used to get fan mail from teenage girls who wanted to come live with them!

The kitchen design was based on designs from other sitcoms. For balance, they always had tall Dorothy sit in the middle.

They always ate cheesecake, usually while tackling some crisis or dilemma. And Bea Arthur hated cheesecake!

Didn't you just love their fights?

Betty White and Bea Arthur never got along. Betty said she thought it was because of her eternal cheerfulness. We will never know... Bea had a reputation of being difficult.

Rue and Betty almost played each other's roles. At the last minute, Rue read the part of Blanche and fell in love with the character. The producers were very reluctant to allow the switch. What a mistake it would have been to forbid the switch.

Estelle Getty was only in her 40s when she played Sophia. What a difference wardrobe and aging makeup made!

The pilot had a gay cook who was let go to make room for Sophia.

Sophia insulted Dorothy at every opportunity! She could zing all of them but Dorothy was her favorite target!

Sophia's catch phrase was "Picture it.." Usually always Sicily

Rose's was "Back in Saint Olaf."

Rose was terminally naïve. The subtext of everything went over her head. But she loved people and wanted only to be loved back.

The short lived spinoff, Golden Palace was short-lived. It saw the end of super couple Miles and Rose when he found a stewardess on a flight. Rose watched them get married. The ladies minus Dorothy bought a hotel in downtown Miami. Betty said it was like a three legged stool minus Bea, who made a guest appearance.

The ladies were invited to do a Special Command Performance for Queen Elizabeth.

Betty is the only survivor of the cast.

What an ensemble: charming self centered, narcissist southern belle man hungry Blanche Hiollingsworth Deveraux,

Earth mother, piano playing animal loving, Saint Olaf story spinning widow Rose Nylund

no nonsense divorced sub teacher Dorothy Patrillo Zbornak Hollingsworth

wisecracking diminutive loud mouthed octogenarian Shady Pines fearing Sophia Patrillo Winestock who was always feuding with her sister Angela played by Nancy Walker

Speaking of their last names, in one episode, Blanche's middle name was Marie. In another, it was Elizabeth. Whoops!

The finale made me cry. They decided one of them would leave. After 7 seasons, Bea volunteered to have Dorothy leave. An end to one of NBC's biggest runaway hits, ever!
