  • Guinea pig or hamster ? i can’t choose so someone please help !!?

Best answer: There is quite a difference in cost and care of the two. The hamster will be much easier and cheaper to care for. Monthly costs for a piggie will be at least twice what it costs to maintain a hamster each month. Piggies will need to have their poo swept up every day. Guinea pigs must be in pairs and they need a much larger cage. Measure out an area in your room that is 30" x 60." That is the size cage you'll need for the pair of piggies.

The hamster cage should be around around 450 square inches (the piggie one is 1800 square inches!). A large plastic tub will work for a Syrian hamster (google images of "hamster bin cage" for examples). Can't use plastic tub for piggies -- they won't be large enough and piggies need more air circulation.

Hamster will probably be your best bet.

I have rat named Peanut (after one of her favorite foods). I got her from a pet store about a year ago now, and she has been one of the best pets I have ever owned. She is friendly, energetic, and playful. About a month ago, I started to notice a growth developing in her abdomen. And as time has progressed up until this point, it has grown larger. I have included a picture of the growth. I doubt that it's a pregnancy because her cage companion is another female. So what is this growth? Is it an infection? Is it puss? Is it cancer? What is it and what do I do about it? If veterinary treatment is the only option, how much do you think that would cost? Any useful information is appreciated. Thanks.

He not dead yet because he keeps moving when he gets confused of where he is, he's still breathing and I can feel his heart. Should I continue to hold him or should I put him in his cage.

  • My rat is limp, breathing heavy, blood around eye? I noticed it on Tuesday.?

She’s just laying down, breathing heavy and there’s blood on one eye. She’s eating luckily but we can’t figure out what happened. She isn’t old either. We do have another rat in her cage with her but they’ve been together since we got them and they love each other. She also can barely move her front paws.

  • Can my guinea pig eat dried herbs?

Best answer: Dried is no different from fresh (less the moisture). If you were to dry it out yourself you would take fresh and put it in the oven on very low heat. All the same less the moisture from the heat.

A vet might be able to help if they know pocket pets, but an older hamster, About all that can be done is keep it comfortable and cater to its needs, likely just expire quietly in its sleep. It is what makes a life complete.
My bad, missed the part of age. Sounds like old age is just going to take its toll, You did good keeping it this long, no doubt stress free, healthy, and happy.

  • Chicago is now the most rat infested city in the world Is this another Dem win?

Best answer: Well, you just wait. You'll see! Democrats have only been in total political control of Chicago for a little more than 80 years..... and any decade now, their policies and ideas for an urban utopia will begin to take shape and work. Then, you will be sorry for putting them down. You just wait. You'll see! show more

  • Mice fighting! Help!?

Best answer: People very rarely get males to get along. Separate them. Otherwise you risk coming home one day to find a bloody mess and dead/severely injured mice. Happens all the time. They seem fine and then disaster.
I would assume they were still young when you got them. They start to fight when the hit a certain age.

In highly-populated urban areas, larger animals (possums not mentioned) could become a nuisance if they scratch at cars or windows or fly into power lines.
Some animals could damage window screens when they see their reflection and react in territorial defense behavior.
If you feed them, they can live longer - ten years instead of one year.
