• A friend of mine has a six-month-old baby who keeps waking and crying during the night. She asked me for advice, what should I tell her?

Best answer: If you don't know just tell her you don't know. It seems for some reason she thinks you know the answer, clearly you don't. Just be honest with her.

  • Should I buy knee pads for my baby that is learning to crawl?

Best answer: Babies have learned to crawl from the dawn of the human race. We need to stop pandering to manufacturers who create a need for something that's not necessary. And that's the 'they' you are referring to. First create a need by pointing out that babies might hurt their little knees, (diddums), then... show more

it via fear advertisisng. Think! Babies are supposed to get scuffed knees and the odd bruise. It's part of the learning process. Who knows? If we make it too comfortable for babies to stay on their knees, maybe they won't bother to try standing up!

  • What is the best or first advise that comes to your mind for someone who has a six-month-old baby who keeps waking and crying?

Best answer: Expect that, is my advice. The more you tell yourself that, by now, the baby should be in a routine, the fact is that he isn't. Continue to try to get that routine going, but be kind to yourself if he's still not getting it. Like puppies it can take a while. If you can't keep the house tidy,... show more

Continue to try to get that routine going, but be kind to yourself if he's still not getting it. Like puppies it can take a while. If you can't keep the house tidy, don't, if there's no time to cook, don't. If you are tired when you get in from work, hand him over to mum/dad, grandparents and go take a nap. But overridingly, say to yourself, "this is normal, and it will pass".

  • Can a baby sleep on their stomach when laying on my chest?

I baby sit my nephew from time to time, born in August. And I was wondering if it’s okay for him to sleep on his stomach when laying on my chest? I make sure every second his head is turned to the side and I always check his breathing, I saw a bunch of stuff about SIDS and now I’m worried.

I know babies may not be getting the nutrition in formula milk that they are with breastmilk but some mums that bottle-feed admit that they pump breastmilk into the bottle and feed instead. Some mums can have a medical condition or they don't produce enough milk so they have no choice but to bottle feed. Also they probably don't like the idea of breastfeeding in public. It makes them extremely uncomfortable. I know breast milk is better, but at the end it's your choice and you may have a reason as to why you don't breastfeed. I don't see what is so wrong with that.

  • Sore baby neck folds?

Best answer: Yeah I wass just going to say being unhygienic can cause this (but you wash her regularly, so that shouldn't be a problem). Eczema is another particular issue, it tends to occur more in folds as well. Eczema can occur when the babies skin is weak. This can be aggravated if a person washes their child too much... show more

  • Cloth diapers or disposable diapers?

I am a new mom and don’t know what is better, cloth diapers are better for the environment and you won’t have to smell your kid’s sh*t in the trash can. I’ve always found them gross though because it’s like shitting in underwear. And then you have to fu*king clean the sh*t off, like oh my god that’s disgusting.... show more

The only advantage for cloth is not having the crap smell in the trash can, which smells really gross.

  • Would you use a daycare if they were really great except the tv was on a lot?

Best answer: One of our daughters spent about half a year with a babysitter who was good in many ways, but who had the t.v. on all the time.

We found the constant noise stressed out our daughter, and we moved on to a different sitter, so no, I would not.
