  • Am I being unreasonable?

My mom (and rest of my family) always yells at me for being “too private.” For example, I don’t like her to read things I write for school or hear what I’m playing on piano (I have headphones and a keyboard). Also, when I’m in my room and on my phone, I usually have the lights turned off. I just like to be in the... show more
My mom (and rest of my family) always yells at me for being “too private.” For example, I don’t like her to read things I write for school or hear what I’m playing on piano (I have headphones and a keyboard). Also, when I’m in my room and on my phone, I usually have the lights turned off. I just like to be in the dark instead of being bombarded with light for no reason. My family labels it as weird. Anyway, they always try to pry into my stuff and constantly annoy me with questions I don’t want to answer about the things I’m doing. I don’t know if they’re concerned or whatever, but forcing me to share what I don’t want to and what I frankly think is none of their business isn’t helping me with anything (I don’t even know what they think it is doing). I don’t have a problem with my friends reading my stuff and whatnot, I just don’t want her doing it. I really don’t think I’m the one at fault here but I want a second opinion thinking of somehting I might be missing. Also if I am justified it’s always hard to try to explain that I just don’t want to share certain things, because she always gets mad and literally will not listen to me when I try to walk her through things logically. I don’t know what to do.

That being said, 'racism' is a term that's progressively losing meaning. At this rate people that oppose Islam being mixed into their culture are labelled 'racist' because somehow Islam is a race.

NOT RACISM: I don't want more Muslims to migrate to Australia because Islam carries very regressive social values, including dismemberment for petty crimes, homophobia, a terrible idea of gender equality and it opposes secularism.

RACISM: Black people shouldn't have the right to vote because they're biologically less intelligent and inferior to whites.

Government services don't work as efficiently because there's no competition and therefore no reason to try harder. 2. Why should being able to breath and have a beating heart be an automatic entitlement to someone else's tax dollars? 3. If people become sick by their own choices eg alcoholism, smoking, being obese, why should a taxpayer have to cover this when it isn't their fault?
