  • Up against the wall or In the middle of the floor ?

Best answer: depends on the size of the room.. if the room is small then it makes sense to place sofa against the wall , freeing up the middle of the room. however if the room is large , then placing the sofa in a position that suits you makes more sense .

So the story is about 3 months ago we had a "casual intruder" rodent who was getting into the cupboard under our stairs and into our loft. We got the pest control out and they laid poison traps (including through a hole in the floorboard where it is likely to be popping up - he also advised we seal all holes leading into the property (which he pointed out). The rodent ate the poison and died under our floor, all holes were sealed by our builder. The pest guy came back and said that he could definitely smell 'dead rodent' and so unfortunately we just had to wait for the smell to clear (it did by Xmas). We are now having around 5 flies pop up per day from the maggots I guess - joy. I had been discovering these "mice droppings" near our sofa (situated in our kitchen/diner), where there are NO HOLES in the wall or floor. (well certainly none big enough for a rodent - an insect would probably fit) There are usually only 2 or 3 'droppings' a week, they are either behind the sofa near the wall or occasionally we will find one down the back of the sofa. The reason I am wondering whether they are mice droppings is because they are ROCK HARD, incredibly hard to crush between a tissue and I heard that mouse droppings (once old) become hard but will crumble. So bearing in mind that I discover new ones like the ones pictured within a week (or much sooner) they aren't that 'old'. So if it isn't mouse poo - then what is? Would be very grateful for any help. Thank you!

They crush easy and chemicals are mostly toxic to them. Boric acid is effective against them.
Not many welcome bugs in their home so they are considered a pest in numbers.
Because they feed mainly on wet rotting or moldy woods and paper products, usually a dehumidifier is very effective at keeping them out, they need a cool damp environment to breed and survive, much like earwigs.

If the fan is connected that way, then yes it will eliminate some of the smoke. However, this is not Ideal. I don't know any smokers that do that, well maybe some that just smoke in the bathroom but not that they installed bathroom fans for that purpose. What you are probably thinkin of, is sometimes referred to as "cigar lounge smoke eaters" google them and see what they are. Keep in mind they can get kind of expensive if you are looking to install one.
