I’m havin a really hard time getting approved for apartments in Massachusetts. I don’t have great credit, but have the money for first, last, security, and another month’s rent all upfront. I keep spending money on apartment applications just to get denied. I don’t have the time to boost my credit. I just happened to miss a few car payments way back, and now I have poor credit. Am I better off just living in my car with my girlfriend and two cats in the dead of winter? Seriously, how does everybody else do it? I’m tired of spending all of this money on applications just to have realtors lie to me, and never call or email me back, unless to say I was not approved. Co-signer is out of the question as both of our parents do not have the best credit, or would co-sign.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that Bill Gates or Steve Jobs are your models. These are outliers. In Gates' case it was his father that set him up. He just had to not put his foot on the brake at the wrong time. Steve Jobs knew what he wanted to do and started his career at the age of 12. Most people, whether successful or not, do not know at the age of 12 where they are going.

Think of life as being like a pyramid. You need to have the broadest possible base which is the education you are getting now. As time goes on you will narrow down your options but the broad base should prevent you from being closed out of anything that might be an opportunity.

An excellent university will fine tune your brain and develop the teamwork and leadership. Actually you should have already started to work those areas. Oxbridge will love that that if you can swing an interview there. It could get you a place at a university that will open any door you want to walk through.

I was evicted for “safety reasons” it’s only the 12th day of December and I have only lived there for 12 days. I got hit with a 3 day notice eviction because my background check failed for some reason when I have absolutely nothing on my background.... I have never even had a ticket. So now I’m getting evicted and have 3 days to leave.... what about my security deposit and rent I paid on the 1st, is there a law that says I have to get that back?

  • My house has appreciated $9k and $9k of principal has been paid off. Is there anyway to extract that?

    Best answer: You could sell.

You could take out a home equity loan.

You could do a cash-out refinance.

All of those options are expensive.

So I want to do better in life and my first goal is to not be late to anything unless something serious happens. I just started this new job and have already been late a few times...so I already feel like I’m not going to be here long so I come to work and cry everyday because I feel like I can’t do something that’s so simple to do right! I’ve left at different times to see what would be the best time to leave. I left about 40 minutes today and it’s only 25 minutes away and still didn’t make it on time because the traffic is so bad where I live...I’ve took the toll road but it adds up and I’m not rich to be paying that all the time. I need this job because i wanna get my own place too which is my next goal but if I can’t even keep a job it’ll never happen. It makes me just not wanna be here anymore. I don’t have the strength to kill myself but I wish I did sometimes because I can’t seem to do anything right.

Best answer: Insurance companies have an open enrollment period where you can buy, usually beginning in January. The idea is to induce you to buy insurance by giving you only a short period to do so. The ACA open enrollment is November to February but there is no individual mandate beginning in January so he can buy a cheaper plan. Under the ACA, there is catastrophic care only polilcies that are cheaper if you are under 30.

Medicaid has strict income and asset requirements. You can have only $2000 in assets for one person and they count ALL household income to qualify. In some state you must also be disabled, pregnant, a new immigrant, on welfare or a single parent. No, your income requirement for Medicaid depends on your family size. For one person $26,000 is way above the limit. I am in California where the income limit is $1250 per month. After that you have a share of cost to pay in every month you wish services.

Call the Obamacare insurance exchange in your state and ask questions. You are not clear on how it works. If your friend had Medicaid, in some counties you cannot also have private insurance. That is fraudulent. If she incurred $1000 in medical bills, that is because she had no insurance when she saw those doctors. On Medicaid you wouldnt be charged.

It is not wrong. We have a lot of choices in how we obtain health care. She can also go to a county health clinic and pay a fee for service without insurance. It depends if she needs regular care or not.

I've applied to loads of jobs only to be offered ONE interview and most employers don't have any decency to even reply and it's really starting to eat away at me. Also is it a good idea to let employers know I'm willing to work for minimum wage? It's still much better than benefits..
