My girlfriend and her roommate are on the lease, but our roommate has gotten us 2 eviction notices already and has about $750 in debt to pay the apartments. We pay on-time everytime and would just like to move to a single bedroom. I know if her roommate signs us off the lease, then we can just dump it on her and leave.... but my girlfriend isn t that cruel (I am however). Here is some facts: *We pay half of 900 a month and full amount of electric (200-250 a month). *We have discovered a rodent problem beneath our apartment (rats and skunks). *Rats chewed through our oven wiring, causing our stove to not work, but our oven does still. *A broken electrical outlet in the living room. *A few non working light bulbs. *A broken closet door. *A broken refrigerator. *We have a cat we don t pay for, but clean up very well when they re inspecting. *We go to school and work 1 hour away and are trying to move closer to there! We haven t told the front office anything about any of this except the fridge... they promised new appliances, but nope... Any help would be appreciated, we wake up at 6am just to get to school/work on time... it s a real struggle. We are in Texas also....

What do you really do when the boss uses the words "I prefer"? He will say something like "I'm not going to say that you can't take your vacation this week, but I would prefer that you wait until next week". So far this has not been a real problem, but I've been working on starting my own part-time sideline business and the boss from my full time job said "I would prefer that you didn't". The only real restriction on the books that my place has is I can't take a part-time job with a competitor while I'm working this job. Since the sidleline is a DJ/KJ business, it has nothing to do with my full-time job, but my boss is worried about the business interfering with my full-time job. He said I might "think" I have Saturday off and agree to DJ an event but if somebody quits or calls out, I might be required to work at the last minute and I would be expected to cancel my event and come to work, "I'm DJing a dance Saturday" is NOT an excuse. At this point, I need to make some extra money, my full-time job doesn't pay enough. I barely make it paycheck to paycheck like most everyone there. Sometimes the bank account is down to $0 before the next paycheck. There is no savings, no retirement. I had to borrow money from my parents for car repairs just so I could get to work. I really need the money from this but my boss said he would prefer that I don't do it.

QuickBooks used to have a network of local experts that you could ask for help for what seemed like a reasonable amount of money (I'm not talking about tech support) But that seems to be no more. I would like to have a relationship with a smart talented patient accountant who is skilled in QuickBooks that I could pay on a subscription basis to ask an occasional question. What do you think my best options are? Thanks

Due to 2 pulmonary embolisms I am moving out of my apartment early and moving in with a friend, i found out my landlord was showing my apartment without my knowledge, they have not been giving me a 24 hour notice either. Both these things are illegal for landlords to do, but I was not planning on seeking any legal advice. I set up a security camera so I can watch the viewings, there was one today and everything was fine, but then my landlord entered my apartment after they people who were viewing left, and he kicked my cat pretty hard on the way out. I have video evidence of this. He has also been claiming that my cat has been stinking up the apartment, including the whole building which is completely false. I have 3 different people to testify that my apartment does not in fact smell in the slightest, he keeps claiming that it does (I’m thinking he’s doing this to try and keep my damage deposit) i am moving out March 1st and he is also trying to make me pay March rent. I am very upset with all that is going on and I just want to know what kind of action I should take.

  • Is moving in to a car a great way to save for a house?

Living in my car would save me $1500 a month in rent & utilities. $25,000 is what I need for a down-payment on a house which means I'd live in my car for 17 months. So is this a good idea to save for a house?

I'm 18 years old and I'm planning to move out of my parents' house because I feel like they are extremely toxic. I currently have 3 bank accounts which have some money I inherited from a deceased relative (2 checking and 1 savings), and they are keeping track of the money in all of the accounts. On my savings account, they even set something up where if I want to withdraw or transfer money, it'll go through them first. On my checking accounts, they find out my activity not too long after I do something. They will even know if I'm earning money. I am using Wells Fargo, and it's set up where I have a username and password and then I can see a list of my accounts. I'd really like to continue using Wells Fargo, but if the only way is to create an account from another bank, I'll do that. If I create a new Wells Fargo account, it will also show up on the list of account (at least I think). They do not know my username and password. Will they be able to keep track of the account(s) that I create, and how can I fix the problem with my savings account?
