I then went to another care home but the long days killed me so 3 months in I left. I then went back to college while working part time as a home carer I did this for 14 months then once again I left (I had left for a few weeks at a time twice in the middle as I believed I had found better jobs, that turned out to be worse). Then I got a small job with people my age and it was ok but the company shut down leaving me with no job. Now I’m working in my “dream job” as a support worker at a children’s day centre for disabled kids, I have always wanted a job here but by hey never had any vacancy’s. Anyway I got this job 6 weeks ago and I was over the moon, but 6 weeks in I’m tired and once again fed up with my job. I struggle with anxiety and that makes me tired as I feel like I have to try really hard to fit in all the time. I’m terrified of doing a job with long hours as I’m always sleepy and this leads to my anxiety being worse then this leads to a massive breakdown and I leave my job. Because iv only done care I can’t find a job in another field as I have no experience. I can’t afford to go back to college and I worry that I will never be able to hold down a job.Am I just lazy? Is it just the type of jobs I’m doing? Will I ever find a job I can stick with? Does everyone hate their job and feel constantly worn out even after a short 7 hour shift?

  • Why do unemployed poor people always lie about what their job is?

Best answer: They want you to think highly of them so you can be impressed. They would be embarrassed to say their real job.

Best answer: No, he won't notice. There's a chance that he'll be over a bit on hours and will have to send people home to make his labor to sales balance out at the end of the week. The few hours you worked won't be noticeable to him. He'll think it's because of fluctuations in sales or people working over 15 minutes here or 15 minutes there. If he even sees you signed in when you weren't scheduled, he might even think someone called you in.

Anyway, don't draw attention to it. All you stand to do is make your boss think you're an idiot and think about cutting your hours or letting you go. So keep your head down and just keep going to work when you're scheduled. In the extreme unlikelihood that he does call you out on it, just apologize profusely for getting your days mixed up and promise you won't do it again then let it alone.

It's my first time applying for a job in the sales industry and I'm really unsure on how/what to do. Do I need to write both a CV and a cover letter or a resume? How likely are you to get caught out on lies?

I'm certain hospitals expect you to work long, 15-hour shifts for 60 hours/week. Is that true? As far as computers, how does that work? As far as food-service, I can get two jobs as a cashier or work as a waiter - right? Do restaurants expect you to work 40 to 50 hours? So what's the difference? It sounds like I'll have to work 50 hours no matter - right? Aren't there any jobs that pay well and let you work 30 hours/week?

I've got a great job working for a small tech company. I'm earning $45,000 for the first time. The problem is, I've been asked to go on a corporate team building retreat. At the end of it, we all get the company logo as a tattoo. Now, I know the boss takes these kinds of team building activities VERY seriously. The tattoo thing is new...but in the past he has fired people for refusing to participate in other team building activities. Someone said she thinks the *REAL* reason for the tattoos is to weed out the "job jumpers". I'm really uncomfortable with this. Don't get me wrong, I *LOVE* the job, but I'm not confident that I will be here forever. I've always thought tattoos look trashy. Plus I have Hepatitis C. I feel if I should tell the tattoo artist to be extra careful about sterilizing instruments...but at a "tattoo party" with my coworkers this could get awkward. If I refuse the tattoo, can my boss fire me? I live in Massachusetts. Should I just get the tattoo? Should I mention my Hepatitis C,or count on the tattoo artist to use proper sterilization procedures

I m going in the interview in couple of days.. If it goes well and they call me back, should I feel bad for taking the new job with the company?

In his case, last time I looked at it, not picked it up, and told him what a text from his wife said and he said, "thanks." This time, his wife said something not meant for my eyes. I did NOT pick up his phone, it was laying in plain sight and the text was right there. I realized I was wrong... I told him... My apology was met with "you don't know boundaries!!!" etc... It seems I don't know right from wrong... He seemed to calm down in next few minutes, and I thought we were okay and I asked (maybe stupid), how he and his wife met. "None of your damn business" was the answer, "stop asking personal questions!" I got a lil mad, too, now... I let this marinate, and then said "you got me to realize how "personal" depends on the individual..." Now he came up to me and said, "you are making me VERY mad!! So mad, that... that I Could..." then he stormed off... Besides that I don't know when to shut my big mouth, which is true... Was this a threat? I have gotten on ppl's nerves in the past, NOTHING this bad has ever happened, though... Should I report this?

I'm 19 yearsold currently in University and I am struggling to find a job. Around 3 months ago I made the decision to volunteer for several organizations in an effort to gain skills and experience. All the corporations I've applied for were basically saying no so I went and found people who would say yes. I've also been seeking therapy to help me with my social anxiety. Considering the fact that my work experience is meager, I'd argue that I do a great job in marketing myself as well. My summary statement on my resume is full of soft skills that would make me an asset for the positions I apply for. I make sure to adjust my resume to the position I am applying for as well. I also do not have any connections. I've noticed that I'm being called in to more interviews, but despite preparing for each interview, it always ends in me being rejected. I am just wondering if there's any skills I can learn on my own time that will make me more employable. I am trying to become bilingual as well to prepare for future job opportunities.

I would like to start off that I worked a commission vs draw based job, which means that if I want to earn commission I constantly have to be selling the same numbers I work and plus that (if I want commission). And a lot of times my job will ask me to pick up a shift for a day that additional people on the floor aren't needed, so why would I go in? If there's excess people and it's a dead weekday I will be losing money (my base rate is only $8 an hour) I will call back once and a while to let them know but a majority of the time I don't bc I find it disrespectful how much they disturb me on my days off. Is it rude I don't call them back? I'm usually just busy because I plan for my days off. Was just wondering.. my managers are also very rude and when I have called back previous times they've just given me backhanded comments as to why I'm not coming in for a shift that isn't on MY schedule. I NEVER call out of work and am always showing up for my shifts, so I find it very unnecessary. Would love to hear what you guys think!
