  • Why do so many people not care about education or furthering their careers and work stupid jobs?

Best answer: It isn't about not caring, they have different circumstances, not everyone has the ability to fund schooling and not everyone has the intelligence to further their education, they may be illiterate, You aren't very bright thinking that everyone should have the same mind and capabilities as you.

I ve applied for almost 100 jobs, and only been offered one interview. So my question is to HR workers out there, honestly when you see combat service on an application is that a turnoff for fear of PTSD or something? Looking back at my applications, and resume that s the only thing I could find that someone would turn me down for. Seriously asking so I know if I need to remove the combat service off my resume, future applications and just keep that I m a Marine veteran.

  • I am tired of working my dead end job. What are some ways out?

I have been working a low paying, no benefit, strenuous physical labor job for 5 years now since high school. I cannot afford college as I barely have enough to pay my bills. Also I cannot join the military because I have a GED and they no longer accept that or I would join immediately.

Its bad advice to pick something you like without considering the job market for that major.

Most people have lots of different things that they like and they're good at. Pick something that you like AND that has good career prospects. You can always go back to school later in life to study some other topic that you find interesting but has no career value- but save that for when you can afford to do it for personal pleasure.

Best answer: Nope. they are doing a prescreening of all the applicants to see who they want to interview in the next step. Best answer: Your supervisor said, "You SHOULD be able to finish." The supervisor did not say " I expect you to finish before you go" or "You MUST finish before you go."

So you can explain that neither you nor the co-worker had taken your breaks before the supervisor left (and the supervisor is actually in charge of making sure employees get their breaks...they ARE required by law.) and as a result, one of you had to mind the register while the other was on break. By the times the breaks were over it was time to close and leave, but you WILL get them finished today.

Of course, you could have wisely used that last hour to get the pricing done. So your supervisor may be a little upset, but it is not the end of the world.

    So be honest.

  • How long is considered holding down a job?

I'm bi-polar and it's really hard for me to hold down a job. I'm only 34 years old and I've had nearly 70 different jobs in my lifetime. But I've been at my current job about 14 months, and I'm doing really well. Am I holding down a job?
