  • Advice for talking to this girl?

Alright, I know I'm totally over thinking this, but I can't help it, I just get so nervous about this kind of stuff... There's this girl at my dorm who I really really like and have been hanging out with a lot and I think (hope!) she sort of likes me too. She asked for my cell # this week and yesterday, when we all went on winter break, I sent her and some other friend facebook messages wishing them a great christmas and everything. In her reply message she said 'You better text me!!"...

So I'm planning on texting her in a few minutes just saying hi... But I am literally terrified lol. Any advice? Part of me is afraid that she's going to get bored with talking to me :/... Another part of me is afraid she won't even text me back despite what she wrote to me on facebook.

  • I really like this girl who lives at my dorm... Do you think she might like me as well? Any tips/advice?

So there's this girl at my dorm who I've been talking to and hanging out with a lot lately. I know I'm just going through that typical crush phrase, but right now I feel like she's the most amazing girl... She's pretty, she's cute, she's funny, she's smart, she's nice, she's catholic (as I am), and she also doesn't drink, smoke and believes in no sex until marriage (yes, that's also fine with me...)

I went to an all-guy catholic high school and so, as pathetic as it is, haven't really had much interaction with females prior to college. As stated earlier, I really really really like her, but I want feedback on the possibility of whether or not she might like me as well...

Some signs I've noticed that lead me to believe she might like me also:

-Last week, I asked her if our Art Final was an online test. She said it was and that she already took it, got 100% and then volunteered to give me the answers when I took it on the computer. Later I went to her room to ask for her help with it and she helped me get a 96%.

-A few days ago, I went with her and some friends to dinner. When we were in the line for food, she started a convo with me, asked what I had been up to all day. I told her studying (as this was Finals Week) and she said I should take a break and come upstairs to watch a movie with her and her friends later.

-I asked her when I saw her later if she was still planning on watching a movie later. She said sure and asked for my cell # and said she'd text me if they got around to watching anything. I sent her a quick text so she'd have my # and she replied back with a cute 'hellloooo!!" and a smiley face. She never texted me about a movie later that night though, but whatever...

-Lastly, I wrote a bunch of facebook messages to my friends at my dorm (including her) wishing them all a great winter break and just explaining to them the qualities I like about them. She replied to my message today saying I was sweet and said 'you better text me'.

So... Do you think there's a chance that she might like me a bit too?

I've made up my mind to text her at some point soon (IS TOMORROW TOO SOON!?! WHAT SHOULD I SAY!?!... I was just gonna say hi and see where it goes from there...I am the most inexperienced person with girls...)

  • Can an orphan be sent to live with their distant relatives?

I'm trying to write my own story and I just wanted to know if this was a realistic situation.

The two main characters of my story are supposed to be a 10 year old girl and an 18 year old boy, who are second cousins (their mothers being first cousins.) The girl and her family live in San Fransisco while the boy and his single mother reside in New York City.

In my story, the girl's parents are supposed to die under mysterious circumstances (later revealed to be murder). The girl is then sent to live with the boy and her mother in new york city, as they are her only living relatives.

Is this a likely scenario? If a child's parents die, who decides where they go to live/who they go to live with? Is this situation unlikely because her relatives live on the other side of the US, far away? Would it also be less likely to happen if she's never met her relatives before? How would her relatives be contacted and the arrangement to take her in and raise her be set up?

Could someone explain to be how I can work this all out and what the law states with these types of situations? Thanks.

  • Christians... Do you believe engaging in violence/killing is sometimes necessary?

Say you're standing outside a building and some terrorist guy is also standing out front, exclaiming he's about to blow the whole building up and kill everyone inside.

    You spot a gun nearby.

Do you pick the gun up and shoot the man to prevent him from killing everyone?

  • What do you think of my story ideas?

I'm going to be a senior in high school and I've been working on writing my own dark fantasy/horror novel. This question is just about my characters and doesn't have to do with any of the supernatural aspects of my story.

The main characters of my story are two distant relatives: A 17 year old boy and a 10 year old girl. Their mothers are cousins. The boy is a hoodlum living in Philadelphia with his single mother, with whom he has a strained relationship. He's always getting into trouble and into fights with local punks, but at the same time has the best grades and highest GPA at his school. The girl initially lives in San Fransisco. Her mother was a prostitute who was fatally shot while she was eight months pregnant. While her mother died in the hospital, the baby was able to be saved via an emergency C-Section. The girl was then taken in and raised by her grandparents, until their mysterious death years later (later revealed to be murder). The boy in Philly and his Mom, the girls only other living relatives, agree to take her in.

I plan to write about the boy and girl establishing a strong bond. Since the boys mother is busy most of the time with work (she's a nurse), he's left to look after and care for the girl at home. He initially could care less for her and seems to be annoyed by her very presence, which leads to the girls several attempts to gain his affection/attention.

However, as I want to create a very close relationship between them, I've ended up painting it out in an almost romantic sort of way... I'm afraid some people may view their bond as incest/pedophilia. While there are some awkward situations, there's nothing explicitly sexual between these two characters.

Here's some of my ideas. Tell me what you think:

1.) On a Friday Night, the boy's mom has to work let and expects him to watch his cousin for the night. The girl is excited to spend time with her cousin and prepares to order a pizza, play games and watch movies with him for the night. However, the boy breaks his promise to his mom and decides to head out to a party that night instead. Furious, his cousin tracks him down, strolls right into the house where the parties taking place and finds him on the couch with some drunken slut trying to make out with him. His cousin proceeds to drag him out of the house in front of everyone. Outside, the two have an argument and the girl, upset, heads back home. The boy, feeling guilty, decides to forget the party and follows her. He catches up to her just in time to find some creep trying to get her to take a ride in his care with him. The boy decks him, apologizes to his cousin and the two walk home together.

2.) One night the girl has a nightmare during a thunderstorm. She goes to her cousin’s room and begs him to let her stay in his room with him for the rest of the night. He eventually gives in and agrees, but he makes her sleep on the floor. When he wakes up the next morning, she's sleeping soundly in his bed and he's the one on the floor (implicating he eventually gave up the bed to her).

3.) In the summer, when at the pool, the girl faints and almost drowns while the lifeguard is preoccupied flirting with girls. er cousin dives in and drags her out, and successfully performs CPR and revives her. (His Mom’s a nurse… I guess he could have learned from her?)

4.) The girl has her first period when it’s only her and her cousin in the house. She sort of freaks out and he has to try and calmly explain to her what’s going on. I don’t know if this might be inappropriate and should be omitted from the story, but I thought it would be a funny/awkward situation to write about.

5.) At some point in the book, the girl is taking a shower and the boy is sitting outside in the hallway waiting for his turn to use the bathroom. The two are supposed to have an amusing little conversation and then the girl comes out of the bathroom in a towel. I don't know if others may think this is inappropriate as well, as he's with his naked 10 year old cousin, but she's covered up with a towel.

6.) The boy plans on going to Oktoberfest with some friends but his Mom forces him to take his cousin with him, to his dismay. However, the boys friends turn out to be a bunch of jerks. Seeing he's greatly disappointed and upset, the girl tries to cheer him up and takes him all around the fair, where they get food, play games and win one another prizes and go on some of the rides. They end up getting into a really deep conversation with one another when they get stuck on the Ferris Wheel and are both disappointed when it starts moving again. When they leave the festival, the girl gets tired and the cousin carries her home on his back and falls asleep. When he gets home, he takes her to her room and tucks her into bed.

7.) When the boy is suspended/can't attend the winter formal, the girl sets up her own prom in their kitchen, puts on

  • I want to write a book, but I need some help.?

I'm going to be a senior in high school and I've been working on writing my own dark fantasy/horror story for a while now. I have an outline of the plot, characters created, a setting, etc.) All I really need to do now is put my story on paper.

I have about 18 days before school starts and my life becomes about 20 times more hectic.

I would really like for someone to suggest for me some sort of writing routine I can use for the rest of the summer. Like..wake up every morning and write for 3 hours straight, I don't know.... Anything that can help me get going with writing my book.

    Help would be appreciated.

And if you have learned to control your dreams, is it wonderful?
