Need to copy some reports from online. Newer versions are in downloadable pdfs but the older are just published as is, in-line 20 pages. Is there a clever way of making these older in-line reports into files i can store on my computer (preferrable pdfs)? Now have been copy-pasting into word and saving, but is a lot of trouble. Thanks for your help!1 AnswerOther - Internet8 years ago
I have a pretty large cookie cutter and would like to make some savoury bread in different shapes. The shape can change a bit when baking. And it would probably need to be somekind of flatbread.
Does anyone have any good suggestions for recipes? Intend to serve them with butter and cheese. And soup.1 AnswerCooking & Recipes8 years ago
I have two dendrobium orchids and unlike phalaenopsis orchids, they clearly will not flower from the same stem, but start growing new stems (one plant now has 6 stems and 2 have already flowered). I'm wondering whether I should cut the leafy stems off or not? Would be grateful for other tips too.2 AnswersGarden & Landscape9 years ago
I have been studying French for some time but am finding the French "R" really difficult. I would like to go to a French speech therapist in Paris for an hour but I have no idea where to find a good one. Can anyone help me?2 AnswersParis10 years ago
I have a jar of fig jam, which has been opened and refrigerated. It's supposed to be okay until 2013, but there was a tiny bit of mold right next to the lid (not in the jam proper but on a bit that was on the edge). I tasted the jam and could not taste any mold. Would it help if I heated it up?7 AnswersCooking & Recipes10 years ago
I have a smallish olive tree, which I left in the conservatory over winter (no heating). It did get cold in the conservatory but not below what the olive tree should be able to deal with. About two weeks ago I realised that the conservatory had pretty much Siberian extremes in temperature; cold at night and hot during the day with the sun, so I took the tree in. Most of the leaves had dried (and came off in my hands) but there are still a bit over 10 leaves on two branches that are bendable and are not falling off, so could be alive. Otherwise there is no sign of life and many of the smaller branches were also dry. How long should I give the olive tree to revive? Is it likely at all or does the damage sound too severe?1 AnswerGarden & Landscape10 years ago
I have 8 graphs from excel that I need to put in a document, and I would like them all to be neatly the same size, 6 per page and 2 on the next. How do I do it? All I can figure out is to individually change them, but that looks ugly and doesn't really work.2 AnswersSoftware1 decade ago
I am doing a marketing research problem (lots of questions, answers scaled between 1-4). 1 Being a severe problem, and 4 being a very slight problem.
When I calculated the Kurtosis, one question stands out as having by far the highest Kurtosis--- other values are 0-3, but this one question has about 11.
Does this mean that respondents are abnormally uniform in their opinion? Or that there's something wrong with the statistics?
Thanks very much for your help--- this course was supposed to be all descriptive and now we are doing crazy statistics, so help is necessary. If you have great ideas how to expand the analysis, I would be greatful too. Now have calculated modes and averages of the questions, and skewness and kurtosis.4 AnswersMathematics1 decade ago
Should I make extra payments for larger loan with lower interest or smaller loan with higher interest?
We have two 25 year mortgages, one for 145 000 dollars with an interest rate of base rate plus 0.65% (now about 2%), and the other for 85 000 dollars with a base interest plus 0.85% (now about 2.2%). We are covering are basic mortgage payments just fine, and so I thought that I would try to make extra payments when we have the money of 100-200 dollars per month. But which loan should I try to pay off first? The larger loan has lower interest but at the same time, there will be more interest on the interest. The smaller loan has higher interest to begin with. We just got the mortgages, so the extra payments will make a difference in the longer term.

My fiancee is going to India for a business trip to Mumbai and Chennai with a free weekend in between. He can choose where he wants to spend the weekend.
We have a pretty poor selection of stuff where we live, so this business trip would be an excellent opportunity for him to buy a wedding ring, plus some beautiful fabric for my bridal gown. We'd get something slightly different and more special.
However, my fiancee has never been to India before and has little time. We're wondering whether you would have any good suggestions of where to go so he could potentially find something nice and (especially) not get ripped off. We need some place very reputable, even if it then means paying a bit extra.
Any ideas? Would be very grateful!1 AnswerOther - India1 decade ago
I bought some tulip, narcissus minnow and galanthus bulbs in November (on sale) but never had the time to plant them.
Someone said that I ought to put them in the fridge, and that's where they've been.
My question is: What should I do with them now?
It's still snowy outside but I would of course love to have some blooms this spring. I only have a balcony so my choices are limited to potting in plants...

I'd like to make a sculpture of all the stones I have collected on travels etc. but before I do that I would like to somehow put the place where they are from on all the stones.
I need some easyish method that would be easy to do. I want the sculpture to be outside, so it would have to be weather proof.
Something metal akin to the rings on birds would be ideal, but might be too difficult.
Any good ideas?1 AnswerSculpture1 decade ago
When I travel, I often collect stones from beaches etc. The problem is that I never know where the stones are from. I'd like to put the stones in my garden (outside), but before that I'd like to figure out a way of putting the date and the place found on the stones.
I'd also like the method to be pretty easy so that I can do it quickly.
Marker seems like it would wear off in a couple of years. Paint? Somekind of a metal wrap-around?2 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade ago
Anyone know of easily portable, lightweight gym shoes?
I go to the gym pretty often, and have to drag my stuff around all day. Takes up a fair bit of space, especially my bulky shoes.
I'd like to find some very lightweight shoes that I could use and carry with me. I only do the exercise bicycle, elliptical trainer and weights so I don't need shoes that would be great for jumping around in.
Does anyone know any styles or brand names? I know I can go to the sports shop, but I haven't been able to find anything suitable and I'm thinking online would be better.
Any ideas? I'd be grateful.2 AnswersOther - Sports1 decade ago
I went to a communal laundry room in my building, and found a drug needle. There's been some notes about stolen clothing. The laundry room is locked, but apparently they get in somehow.
Feel pretty uneasy, called the caretaker but he's really lazy.
Any good ideas of what to do? What kind of notes should I write?

I have a skirt and a "jacket (like a jacket, but no buttons and quite thin, looks like a bit like a shirt with an upturned collar) in dark blue satin. The skirt is pretty full with hem-pleats.
The colour is pretty dark, close to Chanel Blue satin nailpolish or:
So blue, but not purple. I am going to a wedding and I need to have something underneath the "jacket". Black would go for sure and I will wear black pantyhose and black high heals... but it is a wedding, and although my dress is pretty dark, I wouldn't like to go any darker.
Neither white or blue will work, so now I'm thinking about contrasting colours.
Any good ideas would be very welcome.9 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade ago
