Just bought an old Ka3 from a local garage with no tax - and a massive gap since it was licenced - help?
This is the message I got when I tried to apply for my tax disc. I didn't realise it hadn't been taxed or SORN'd for so long and now it seems I am liable seeing have bought and registered the car.
There has been a gap in the licensing of the vehicle.
Previous Tax Disc or SORN declaration expired on: 01 11 2007
It is an offence to be the registered keeper of a vehicle that is unlicensed and does not have SORN declared.
You can apply for a tax disc from today’s date, with a Licence Start Date of the 1st of this month. However, please note the above offence will still apply.
DVLA’s Continuous Registration Enforcement Centre may be in contact with the registered keeper regarding this gap in licensing.
What can/should I do? Is there any way to avoid the fine?
I was as green as a leaf going and buying my first car so I had no idea what I was walking into
but i'm guessing the DVLA won't have time for sob stories. Should I ring them and explain? and should I still apply for a current tax disc?
im so confused so any sound advice is most welcome

To cut a long story short, I came off the pill about 8 months ago, as wanted to lose weight
and didn't need it for contraception. Now I may be starting a relationship - but haven't slept with him yet, I don't know whether to wait and see if it's gonna be more than a one off or just go back on it again anyway. I know in theory that is the more sensible option, but if I can it would be good to avoid some of the side effects if I can.

Have been flirting with this guy at work who seems interested in me but I
want to suss him out a bit more before doing anything with him. When I suggested
meeting up maybe catch a film or a drink etc and turned down his suggestion of
going out later and staying at his he accused me of being like a 14 yr old. I thought that was unfair and just wondered what others thought really.
Should I call it a day with this guy?6 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade ago
I used to live there as a student about 4 years ago, but moved back down south. I really
miss it and am currently unemployed so just wondered what people's thoughts were on me trying
to apply for work up North. Am I at a disadvantage?
Also if anyone knows about any part time psychology conversion degree courses up North that would be very useful... I don't think there are any tho, apart from The OU.
Thanks x1 AnswerManchester1 decade ago
I'm thinking of doing a conversion degree leading to an MSc in Psychology.
What i'm really asking is will a lack of science background be a disadvantage. I am eager
to learn and have always been adequate at maths - although never took it beyond GCSE grade B
(and a couple of AS modules from a home study pack)
Is it possible to do this - and by that I mean to stand a decent chance of getting good grades.3 AnswersPsychology1 decade ago
I graduated in 2005 and have since not been in any formal education.
Now I am thinking of applying to do an MSc part time in Sept - the application of which requires references and "preferably one academic reference."
Has anyone been in a similar situation? if so what did you do?
Do you think I could contact my old uni tutor - or has too much time passed by?
Much thanks in advance :)4 AnswersOther - Education1 decade ago
I have just learnt to dive and have a Ford Ka 1.3l engine, and am needing to move to
London in the next few months. So I wondered what level of painful costs this is going to involve.
I cant not drive.... as this would mean I have wasted a lot of money and time in the past.
If I would be affected, what category would my vehicle fall into - i.e how much daily charge?
Also how much are parking fees in London?

I only remember their first names and what subjects they were studying
and the fact that they were at my halls in first year. Does anyone know if there is a way
to track any of them down....i wondered if the uni keeps a record of past students... as far back
as 2002 1st years??
thanks :)1 AnswerFriends1 decade ago
Cowell had a responsibility to intersect the chaos of the public vote results by saving Lucie.... the fact she was in the bottom 2 was enough to know that she was in grave danger, given the hype around Jedward. He is a greedy greedy money and ratings grabbing man who has no problem screwing over young talent!
why on earth does anyone want to continue feeding this morbidly fat cat!!! he's as bad as a banker!
He laughably tries to deflect the blame back on the public, but the bottom line is that the judges are there to bring sense back to the proceedings - and its a no-brainer that you'd save Lucie over Jedward (much as I love them)2 AnswersDrama1 decade ago
I want to complain about the very bad examiner I had. I know the
DVLA informs you to contact the test centre - which is what I am doing
but there is no telephone number given, so I am writing a letter. I don't know who to address it to on the envelope - any ideas?
I am worried that the examiner might get hold of it, which is obviously the last thing id want.
Thanks in advance xx3 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade ago

I am a UK citizen, but have an Irish passport which is about to expire,
and I need a new one urgently.
I have had the worst time trying to get someone "official" to sign it.
The list I have includes
Magistrate or lawyer
My only hope is to try my driving instructor - as this is a teacher of sorts.
Any knowledge most welcome

Ever since the credit crunch it has been impossible to get ANY work.
I previously trained as a journalist, but that field is just way too competitive. Now I am not attractive to other employers and as it has
been a yr since i graduated from journo school, i am definitely not attractive to employers in this field.
I really don't know what I can do. Have tried all the obvious stuff inc
volunteer work, internships, etc. But even these are competitive at the moment.2 AnswersLaw & Legal1 decade ago
Is it ok to take a multi-vit,topped up with Magnesium, Vit B complex, selenium, linseed oil and agnus castu?
I researched it online, and apparantly is a good combo
if you have irregular periods etc, but it seems like a lot - however
I would only be taking so many of them untill i get results.
I would also be taking a ACE vit complex1 AnswerAlternative Medicine1 decade ago
