I work in a supermarket (sainsburys) and we are now allow to display cigarettes under the new laws. However my local convenience store the co-op does not have doors on their displays. Why are they not, are they breaking the law or are they somehow exempt if that's possible?1 AnswerLaw & Ethics8 years ago

I went for a job interview at Sainsbury's on Thursday late evening, I really want to work there as the pay is much better than any other places I can work at for my age ( 16 )
Its not monday and I havnt heard anything back, they never mentioned a specific date they would let me know, they just said that I was the last person to be interviewed and that hopefully HR would call me shortly.
Is it too soon to phone and ask for the outcome of my interview? Should I wait till maybe wednesday?
Its my first job so im a little unsure, thanks :)2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment8 years ago
I need a little bit of legal advice about an accident my nan had while visiting the cemetery. If you wouldn’t mind reading the scenario below and letting me know if I have a claim;
Basically to cut a long story short, my nan was visiting the cemetery and was walking towards the grave she wanted to visit, however the grass was overgrown and obviously not been looked after by the grounds staff, there was a hole big enough to fit about two feet lengths in there, as she was walking her left foot fell into the hole, which she didn’t see as it was overgrown, it caused her to fall and break her leg.
We tried to use a claim company who rejected the claim as apparently the council acted quick enough by filling in the hole the next day, personally regardless of it the council acted after the incident it doesn’t mitigated the losses caused to my nan as she couldn’t work, therefore I think the claim company is wrong. Anyone think we should try a larger claim company, or should we not bother?

I'm thinking of creating help videos for Microsoft word, excel, etc. Is it legal for me to record me using them, showing people what to do and uploading them to the web, I will be making money from adverts and possibly a subscription.1 AnswerLaw Enforcement & Police9 years ago
i know you can legally be sole trader at 16 in the UK - i think? But I wanted to go on websites like Groupon with my business, however you have to sign a contract when advertising with them, therefore am I able to get my parents to sign it on my behalf? Will Groupon allow that do you think?

I have a Peugeot v-clic in warranty with Peugeot, can someone please explain how I claim on the warranty, it's not starting and I've done all the checks I can with my minor knowledge of bikes, so it needs to go into the garage.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.2 AnswersPeugeot9 years ago
So to drive out of my estate there is a slight hill, not that steep, and the rest of the journey to my college is flat, so during this 2 minute drive up this one hill the bike only does 15 mph! Any ideas why, or how to resolve, I would understand if it was a massive hill but it's not!

I have a Peugeot v-clic and have paid to have the Oxford handle bar warmers fitted (light version for mopeds) however I have left the moped for 20 mins and try we're only a tiny bit warm, then did another 15 min journey ontop of that and they are still not very warm. So that's 35 mins continuesley running - how long should it take? Are they faulty?
Also not the battery as I replaced it only one month ago.1 AnswerMotorcycles9 years ago
A few weeks ago my German Shepherd died suddenly with only a few symptoms. He was reaching to be sick but nothing was coming up and foaming out his mouth. I know these are signs of twisted gut so I rushed him straight to the emergency vet and they sent me away with telling me it was just a stomach bug.
Later during the early hours of the morning I found him dead. He did not have any pain in his stomach when it was touched and had no other symptoms.
We didn’t want to do an autopsy, but wanted to know if anyone had any clue what could have caused it. The vet fobbed me off by saying it must have been something long term like cancer. However he showed absolutely no abnormal signs prior to this horrible day, eating fine, happy, sleeping, walking fine, playing and chasing barking as normal.
So confused ??
