  • What are the reasons for some Scottish people wanting Scottish Independence?

As someone in England almost unexposed to the support for an Independent Scotland, I genuinely want to know some first-hand political reasons for it (and I'm also crazy about a boy living in Scotland who supports it so I guess that kind of heightens my interest...).

  • What happened to my Facebook message?

First you should know that I'm crazy about a boy and so please expect a lot of forthcoming irrationality.

Basically, I hadn't spoken to this boy in about 6 months - he lives in another country and didn't have Facebook so as far as I knew I was to never speak to him again.

Then, I get a friend request from him out of the blue on Facebook.

    Yes, I'm buzzing.

Obviously I accepted, but, after a few days and still no email from him, I decided to take the plunge myself.

Only, I was so nervous, as soon as I sent it, I deleted Messenger off my phone just so I didn't have to be anticipating the notification of a reply all night. And this is the irrationality, because, in the morning, when I re-installed it, the message didn't even show up in Messenger like they usually do, even the Sent ones.

So I wondered if it got lost in cyber-space.

I logged onto the computer to see the message I'D SENT was under the 'other' folder. 4 days later it's still there and hasn't even been read as I'm only guessing it's in his 'other' folder too.

So I just moved it to my 'inbox'. Will it go to his inbox? Or am I just a crazy obsessive gal crying out desperately and failing miserably for his cyber attention?

(Please note: Both options may apply)

  • What reasons can I give for leaving work?

I work as a Sales Assistant part-time for a well-known retail company. I worked there for a year and then left to go to uni. But, since returning from uni, my manager has been awful to me.

Extremely unprofessional, it started with him bitching about me on a personal level to my fellow colleagues.

It just went from there, because he knew he could get away with it - I won't say anything back to someone in authority who I am accountable to, as I like to stay professional.

However, the disastrous job he does in fulfilling his job title meant health & safety regulations are at an all time low and, recently, I was lifting a heavy object which I didn't know was loose and it came flying at me, hitting me in the mouth and knocking out parts of my teeth.

I've now had enough of the place, and don't know the most professional or appropriate way to resign?

    Please help.

  • Where in the UK should I move to??

This is gonna sound so stereotypical, but I need you to bear with me. And hopefully be stereotypical too.

I live in South England, and I really don't like it. Where I live is ok because it's not too rich so you don't find too many materialistic people there (see, stereotype already... I'm not saying all rich people are this way but I certainly find the majority of people in rich places are).

I moved further south to Brighton for university. Hated it. Moved back home. Looking for somewhere else.

I'm looking for a place where the people are friendly. My sort of friendly - where partying is more important than wealth. Yeah, I know, irresponsible, but whatever.

I really get on with people from up North and particularly Scotland.

But I think I need to apply to a university still in England, soo please help me if you know anywhere you think is suitable?

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks. And sorry in advance to anyone I've offended by where you live...

  • Where is a good place to go on holiday?

My friend and I went to Malia for 2 weeks last year and loved it.

Only, this time she wants to go on a tamer holiday, but I still want to go clubbing.

    Any ideas?

  • WHAT DO I DO NOW??????????

Basically, there's this guy I kind of know. And when we see each other we have such fun together (which is only rarely because we live quite far apart). But that's all it is - fun. It's not serious.

But he said something properly sweet the other day, and it took me by surprise because we don't do sweet; we just have a laugh, and now I just can't get it out of my head. It's screwing me over. I need to think of him under the same always-up-for-a-laugh never-takes-anything-seriously light but something's stopping me now.

I'm so confused about what to do... whether I stop talking to him (which is what I'd usually do if it were anyone else) because it would just be awkward if I started liking him as we barely see each other, or whether I give him the benefit of the doubt and just carry on as usual.

What do you think I should do?

  • How to backtrack after saying something weird to a guy?

Basically, me and this guy have met a few times not on purpose at events and had soo much fun.

He lives quite far away but we were talking over Twitter and he seemed proper interested in coming to see me. We aaaalways act a bit weird to each other which is why it's so funny, but now I'm worried I've said something too weird because he hasn't spoken to me since.

It was nothing offensive, literally just banter but a bit weirder than what we'd been saying before. He's light-hearted (the most light-hearted person i've ever met) so i'm sure it wouldn't have fased him at all.

I really wanna see him again. What do I do?

  • Help!!! What do I do?

Basically I would never normally ask on yahoo answers but desperate times call for desperate measures.

I had crazyyyy fun with this boy on holiday then again on this holiday event a couple of months later. I have him on Twitter and we messaged a few times after the holiday then it went quiet, but when I saw him at the event I was so drunk and was like "ahh there you are!" and had crazy fun with him. We're jokily like "yeahhh come visit where I live" but it's just banter.

Every other boy is boring compared to him and he doesn't live too far away, but I know we would never have anything serious. I don't want anything serious, but I kind of want to see him again.

    What should I do?

  • What are some words you rarely hear people use?

I need you guys to think of average words that people just don't tend to use; perhaps because they have a better substitute for it. Not necessarily weird or bizarre words, just uncommon ones. It would really help if you could just take a second to answer, thank you!

  • is an electronic signature a legitimate way for someone to sign the identity confirmation from student finance?

The person signing it is in London and I'm not so it's quicker for her to complete it online and send it back to me.

  • guys, what can a woman say to you that'll make you insecure?

I get on with this guy but sometimes he gets funny (like defensive), so I want to know if I'm saying anything to make it this way so I can stop!

  • Opinions on Jimmy Carter?

Do you Americans like the former President or not? :)

And why didnt he win re-election?

    6 AnswersCurrent Events8 years ago
  • AMERICANS, who did you vote for in the 2012 Presidential Election and why??:)?

I'm using the looser sense of the word but I mean residents of the USA!

I'm doing research on USA politics for A level and this would really help.

  • HOW TO GET A BOY TO NOTICE ME (without flashing)?

The boy in question is a sexy boy who never talks to anyone, and never hangs out with girls but is not gay.

Hes soooo hot wtf why is he so unobtainable. He barely talks so when I'm all chatty I feel like I'm annoying him even though I know that's just how he is.

How can I get him to be less like that, and more into me?

What do boys like that go for?

What do I say without seeming desperate for him (even though I am, but he doesn't need to know that) and that will make him WANT ME?!?!?!

  • Boys, I need YOUR HELP.?

When in doubt, ask Yahoo Answers. And, boy oh boy, does this boy have me in doubt. About the whole purpose of humankind's existence.

He's so beautiful. OMG there's a boy at my work who is tall with dark hair and the most perfect face ever. And, to make matters worse (or better, however you wanna look at it), he is so not bothered about anything. He barely shows emotion and... *orgasm*... he never talks to anyone; is just a mysterious beautiful creature who also goes to my college and is never around any girls... WTF is up with that?!

He's not even on social networking sites so I can't stalk him. He is just so... unobtainable. <3

How do you get a boy like that?! Uh, you don't. Which just makes me want him more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOW can I get a boy like that to notice me? Do they ever like anyone? (Btw, he's not gay so soz if you'd come to that conclusion)

What do I say to start a convo that he'd like?! I am so not cut out for this.
