Hi, all. It has been a while since I've read the novel The Catcher in the Rye, and this needs asking.
Would you say the Catcher in the Rye's Holden Caulfield has cognitive dissonance? Because I've had some friends express that towards me lately, cognitive dissonance.4 AnswersBooks & Authors3 months ago
I've been watching this movie a lot in these insular times, Blast From the Past.
IMO, it is a fun film. It is quite charming and a hoot to watch.3 AnswersMovies5 months ago
I hear this expression all the time, but I have no idea what it means. Anyone know?2 AnswersWords & Wordplay5 months ago
This Q is only for those who think the 1980s music was the best decade for music. I ask you now: Why? I'd love to hear from ya.2 AnswersOther - Music5 months ago
Hey, guys. Today's my birthday, and I was born in 1987.
With that said..... here are five "Family Feud"-style questions about that year.
1) Name a movie that came out in 1987.
2) Name a sports moment that happened that year.
3) Name a song from that year.
4) Another person born that year.
5) A major news event from that year.
.....and go! :)1 AnswerPolls & Surveys1 year ago
I've wondered about the significance of this September 9th holiday called the Chrysanthemum Festival. It's also called Choyo and Kiku no Sekku. Can anybody tell me the meaning of this particular Japanese holiday? All I know it is based on a Chinese one called the "Double Ninth Festival". Thanks.1 AnswerOther - Holidays2 years ago
This is a self explanatory trivia Q. :) Don't post anything rude, though.2 AnswersDrama2 years ago
My girlfriend said that to me recently. What does it mean?2 AnswersQuotations2 years ago
[SPOILER] How would the anime.manga Your Lie in April be different if the roles in the story were reversed?
(SLIGHT SPOILERS) I've been exploring this idea- what if, in the anime story Your Lie in April- Kousei had the disease, and Kaori was the one that didn't? I'd like to hear your ideas. Please, keep the discussion civil, though.1 AnswerComics & Animation2 years ago
First, please refrain from posting anything rude on this Q; it s meant to be sort of a post-mortem of things. The Q is self-explanatory.
All I can think of is that the Red Sox were just better than the Dodgers in many ways this time. I think that 18-inning game took a lot out of the Dodgers, though, and they just ran out of momentum after that.18 AnswersBaseball2 years ago
First, as always, keep this discussion civil. With that said.....
A self-explanatory Q. What was the most LIT year for movies in the 1990s decade, and why?
My vote goes to 1996. So many heavy hiters that year: Independence Day, Twister, Mars Attacks!, The English Patient, Jerry Maguire and, most of all, Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie. :D2 AnswersMovies2 years ago

I think it was in the first part when God took seven days to create things. I found this off a Whose Line episode where they had a Scene from a Hat that went like: "What God did on the 7th day", and Greg Proops said "And they shall be known as the Dodgers." Thanks.1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality2 years ago
First, this is a serious Q, so please post serious answers on this. Nothing demeaning, thank you.
Surely, I'm not the only one who has anxiety about this, so hear me out, and please keep the discussion civil:
Why do I always have to worry about things I hear in the news that are largely beyond my control? Is it a natural thing, because of my anxiety (which I think I may have)? It always seems like all you hear in the news is negative events. There's plenty of good, as I stated, but how the media is like in North America isn't helping things. There wasn't always a 24-hour news cycle, and the current presidential administration is giving me worries about its unpredictabilities.
Also, there are now so many news sources these days, it is hard to tell what is really news and what is fake news, and what is merely opinion. There are just so many outlets that it's a case of information overload.
Especially with that is going on today, that doesn't help my anxiety one bit.3 AnswersMental Health2 years ago
I'm just asking for some recommendations for movies that involve terrorism that were made during the decade of the 1980s. I know the first Die Hard film (from 1988) is one.... anything more?5 AnswersMovies2 years ago
