  • Is there a skin condition that affects only a tiny area?

I have dry and peeling skin but only at the tip of my right middle finger, just below the nail. The area is extremely sensitive and actually start to ache when I pick things up with my right hand.

At first I thought I injured my nail and just left it alone but its been two weeks now with no improvements, its just perpetual dry flaking skin and sore finger.

  • credit card payments?

I have a golden1 credit card and its confusing because I have a "balance", "account balance" and "available credit" but the statement amount is different from all 3. Its a restricted card that I put $500 on, the balance/account balance is $210 and available credit is $289 and minimum due is $10...but when I go to pay the statement balance is $132. So am I supposed to pay 210 or the 132?

  • My hp d1530 printer suddenly started printing only green.?

Switching to grayscale is the only way to make it print black, otherwise it just prints shades of green.

The hardware test page, the one you get by holding the power button and opening/shutting the lid 4 times, only prints black, no colors at all.

The software test page, the one that prints out when you go through the settings only have shades of green.

    So far I've tried

-I tried doing 4 cleaning cycles and just got deeper green

-hardware reset, unplug printer and hold power button for 15 seconds

-I replaced both cartridges after this started happening with no change

  • Is there a way to blacklist emails from a certain domain?

I've been getting spam from I've tried numerous times to unsubsribe ( but the following day I just get more spam from them or their 'partners'

I'm pretty sure that at some point one of the retailers from amazon put my email on that list, because amazon decided it'd be a good ******* idea to "share" customer emails with 3rd party merchants, and I haven't been able to get my email off the list. Is there a way for me to just block emails from the entire domain?

  • Is it possible to replace an exterior door with a sheet of plastic?

I have an exterior door that has needed to be replaced twice already due to rot. I don't want a steel door since the're expensive and wooden doors won't last so I want to see if its possible to replace it with a sheet of plastic.

Does anyone have anything similar or knows a cheap way to replace an exterior door?

  • can I use my at&t internet while vacationing in Europe?

I plan on travelling across Europe and I have no idea what kind of internet options I have, buying a connection at every spot I visit is just too expensive so I'm hoping AT&T have something like an international roaming option (or something similar) or if there's other cheaper options?

  • Need help identifying a strange bug on my cherry tree?

It looks very similar to a stinkbug but longer/slimmer with larger appendages and two long appendages in front of it. Its big enough that it covers most of the cherry. It also flies.

  • Getting added to a house deed (Stockton, CA)?

My mom decided recently that she wants my name to be on her house deed, the process was suspiciously simple and quick and my "shits about to hit the fan" senses are going tingling.

Are there any taxes or laws that we should be worried about? She basically just printed out a new deed and went to the county to record it, is there anything else she or I should do?

  • How to change when a cat wakes up?

We adopted a cat from a shelter (currently about 1.5yrs old) and he tends to sleep in my mom's bed, which she likes, what she doesn't like is when he wakes her up at 2-4am.

Since she feeds him and opens lets him out (we keep him indoors at night) it makes sense that he would go to her to feed and let him out but she has insomnia and can't keep taking her sleeping pills every time he wakes her up.

Keeping him awake during the day (especially during summer) isn't an option, during the heat of the day he is sluggish but when it cools down he is everywhere and would play through the night if he could.

So I wanted to know if theres a way to train him to wake up later or set up a way to tell him when its time to let him out?

  • Ideas for alternative to satellite tv?

Currently my tv costs over $90 for a few hundred channels that I never watch. I've looked around and can't find anything by the usual providers that have things I actually do want to watch without huge bills.

Does anyone know either a provider or some service that has news/sports/discovery/cartoons?

  • How to reply to really exaggerated greeting?

My family and most family friends have this habit of making these really exaggerated greetings/goodbyes and I have no idea how to reply to them.

I'm not the talkative type and 4 or 5 sentences as a greeting is too much for my introverted self to handle.

I also feel kind of bad just for replying with 3 or 4 words to a 4 sentence long greeting. Anyone know whats appropriate as a decent reply?

  • new kitten has been hiding for over 2 weeks now?

After we brought her home as expected she ran into the nearest hiding place she could find and stayed there only coming out during the night.

What isn't expected is that she has been doing this for over 2 weeks now and is still too scared to even look at anyone, as soon as someone walks into (or near) the room she darts back under the recliner.

I've tried coaxing her out with sourcream and milk but if you get too close she actually hisses at you. Shes about 3 months old (I think) so shes spent a good amount of her life under a recliner so far.

Does anyone know anything else that we can do other than wait? Shes already peed behind one of the dressers and she doesn't move during the day at all only at night and even then she has actually been leaving the recliner less and less.

The first week she went as far as the bathroom and started meowing but when she saw me she ran at top speed (while hissing) back toward the recliner and since hasn't gone more than 10 feet from it.

  • How to remove a sliding glass door?

For the longest time my patio door was a little hard to move and constantly screeched, I tried spraying some WD40 on the guide rail and it went from being hard to move to near impossible.

I've been trying to remove it to either replace the rollers or clean it out but I can't seem to get it to budge. I can move it up, one edge more than the other, I can get the door over the guide but I can't get it past the guard on the inside

Can't unscrew anything and right now I think I'm supposed to remove the stationary panel first (I really hope thats not the case). Does anyone know how to remove it? This is the type of door I have (from wikipedia)

  • Anyone know of a simple prepaid card for online shopping?

I'm looking for some prepaid cards or gift cards or something similar that I can use online without a bank account and without signing up for anything.

I've been looking at a bunch of prepaid cards from visa and american express and they all seem to require registration and presumably after they'll mail the card. While all I want is something I can buy at a local store without having to sign up for anything that would be accepted in the two places I'm planning to shop at; and

  • My cat refuses to eat anything but sour cream?

At first I just gave her a little bit as a treat but now she refuses to eat anything else. She already refuses to eat dry and canned cat food, but now she even refuses to eat turkey, fish, and chicken (which was one of her favorites before). Lately shes been eating less but when she started eating sour cream she eats even less, now she only eats about 1 or 2 tablespoons.

So are there any health concerns with just feeding her sour cream? And is there a way to get her to start eating normal food again?

  • wrong application of fungicide on a peach tree?

How would about half a gallon of fungicide spilled on the trunk (and soil) affect a peach tree? This was after the tree's branches had already been sprayed. The ground was very wet at the time and I tried to wash away some of it, but now I'm questioning if that was the best thing to do.

In terms of consequences, what should be expected from all of that?

  • health food stores that sell fresh/dried/frozen maqui berry?

Does anyone know of any health food stores, or any stores in or near Stockton, that sell maqui berries. I heard that they have some major weight loss properties so I want to test them out but I also don't want to use their supplement form.
