  • Essential Songs for a wedding?

I am getting married in September and am looking for some suggestions of 'must play' songs which will get everyone up and dancing.

We have a DJ but he has asked us for a list of songs we would particularly like and I'm looking for suggestions

My fiances' friends are into rock, my friends are into popular music, and then of course there is the family, so we need a mix of music!

  • Best way to sell Royal Doulton?

My grandma has recently died, and she has a lot of Royal Doulton figurines which she has collected over the years. The family will probably keep some as momento's but I was wondering what would be a good way to sell the others online... I know there is ebay but I don't think that's really the best way to sell specialist objects is it? Ideas appreciated

  • What to do about irritating in-laws in the run up to a wedding?

I am due to get married in September and me and my family have started to get really excited about it - buying things, planning, talking about it etc. but everytime I see my in-laws the only thing they ever discuss about the wedding is who we should invite that we haven't, or how they don't really like weddings.

My sister-in-law is trying to make us feel bad for not inviting her new step-daughter and step-grand-daughter... I have never had so much as a birthday/Christmas card from the step-daughter, so don't really see why I should pay out £50 a head for the 2 of them! We have offered to invite them to the evening, but that's not enough!

As for my father and mother in law, I just get the impression neither of them could really care less about the whole thing. My father in law has offered to give us some money towards the wedding which I agree is generous but all he has done is make a fuss about how my family should pay for the whole thing and how if his daughter was getting married, he would give her loads of money for it.

I just don't know what to do - I am getting really resentful towards them, and feel as though they are taking advantage of my family by expecting them to pay for the whole thing but can't say anything... What do you suggest?

  • What is the difference between television plays and films?

There was a 'play' on TV the other day and I was wondering why it is called a play when it is really just a film...

  • Do you think it is a witch hunt?

Do you think the media are over-reacting to this latest Jonathan Ross 'scandal'? I think it is just pathetic to make such a fuss over it when other people are saying FAR worse (such as Jeremy Clarkson making jokes about lorry drivers killing prostitutes and Chris Moyles making jokes about Auschwitz).

People are talking about the BBC sacking Jonathan Ross because he is 'offensive', but I pay my license fee as well and surely I have a right to watch something which I find entertaining as well? His show is the most entertaining thing on the BBC!

He isn't even all that offensive most of the time - in this case, I am sure he didn't know that it was a real person they were talking about, and if he did, he certainly wouldn't have known she had Alzheimers - it is just a case of people looking for a bit of fame and publicity!

I personally think people are getting far too picky and self-righteous about what people can see - I am not saying that things which are truly offensive should be shown but people complained about adverts which showed children flicking peas, because it would teach them bad manners!! Are we just too up-tight?!

  • Do you think they got the Big Brother results backwards?

It feels like Verne was more popular and should have won, and that Ulrika should have been next out after Tommy? It almost feels as though they got the votes backwards from Verne onwards and that the results should have been:

    First place - Verne

    2 - Coolio

    3 - Terry

    4 - Ulrika

Do you think there was a problem with the votes, or do you really think Ulrika was that popular?

  • Big Brother - what is all the fuss?

I don't understand why the women in Celebrity Big Brother are getting so wound up about the supposed divide between the male and female celebrities and acting like the men have voted them out - surely if they are nominated, they must also have been voted for by the females!

I think they are acting like they are being discriminated against but forgetting that people might just not like them - particularly Ulrika and Tina - they have done nothing but whine since they got in the house.

  • Does something need to be done about these footballers?

Another footballer is in trouble for causing the death of a father of five with his dangerous driving - these footballers always seem to be getting in trouble for driving too fast, drink driving, or getting into fights and yet nothing ever happens to them, they continue to be paid more in a week, than most people are paid in a year!

Does something need to be done, if so, what?

  • Do you think Creationism should be taught at school?

I think it might be a good idea to mention it to older children as a theory, but it scares me that people might teach it as fact because to me, there seems to be too much evidence proving otherwise...

  • What is your idea of perfection?

Which celebrities in your mind epitomise perfection (male and female)? For me, it would be Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie (prior to her loosing all the weight)

How about celebrities who others think are good looking, but you just don't get the attraction? To me, those would probably be the girls in Girls Aloud, or perhaps Paris Hilton, and Brad Pitt..

  • Is Gordon Brown a complete nut?

I sometimes wonder - first he was getting involved in the whole Russell Brand/Jonathan Ross thing, and now he is writing to X-Factor contestants - surely he has more important things to worry about! He thought he could do so much better than Tony Blair but he always seems to worried about what the public want, rather than what is actually best for them - I have no idea who I want to be my Prime Minister, but it certainly isn't Gordon Brown or David Cameron - can we get a British Obama?

  • Paul McCartney - Am I the Only one?

Why is there always so much talk about Paul McCartney? First he is made a Sir, then they talk about him as if he is some kind of hero in the divorce from Heather Mills, and now the Queens composer has dedicated a song to him!

Why do people make him out to be some kind of saint, he was in a pop band, that was it, and suddenly everyone (including himself) make out that he is some kind of saviour...

  • Who else thinks the whole Jonathan Ross/Russell Brand thing is overblown?

I like Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross but agreed that what they did was a bit tactless and mean. However, I can't believe it was a top news story on Sky News this morning...

If anyone is to blame, it was the people who allowed this to go on air... surely people know that Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand are going to be controversial, and expect it from them, why be so shocked when they do what they are paid to do?

I saw the girl the whole thing was about on the news this morning, and she is clearly enjoying the attention... She is probably only making a fuss about it to make a name for herself!
