I know I am in the minority here thanks to all of the baseball "purists", but I honestly would rather see a computer behind the plate calling balls and strikes than an umpire. They have the technology, they used it a few seasons back to track the ump's strike zones. I would like to see that technology taken a step further. Set up a standardized strike zone and let the computer determine if the ball was in the zone or not. Nothing ticks me off more than an ump calling one pitch at the knees a strike and the next one a ball, nevermind the fact that the ump the next night will do the exact opposite with pitches letter high. Not to mention the numerous plays at 1st, shots down the line, homeruns, etc. that could could all be called correctly very easily with a 30 second look at the tape. Give me a reason to keep fallible umpires when they can be replaced with infallible technologies. (Speed of the game is the only legitimate reason I can think of)

We were watching Celebrity Family Fued and there was a category along the lines of "Things a wealthy woman would buy her boytoy", something like that. The two of us were saying answers aloud and one of said a watch and then the other of us said jewelry. One of us said "A watch is jewel" and thus the arguement started. Things got really funny when one of the answers on the show was "watch/jewelry". We couldn't agree if that meant they were two separate answers or not. What do you think?

Someone asked a question about an asteroid that may hit Earth in 20-30 years and his question said the asteroid is about the size of a football field. 100 yards doesn't sound all that big in relative terms. How big must an asteroid be for it to make it all the through our atmosphere without burning up?

Let me try this again since I didn't get any decent answers yesterday..... If I am on a draw, is a good call after the flop only a good call if I get to see the turn and the river? What I mean here is, when you determine pot odds after the flop, (8 outs = 32%, for example), that percentage is based on me hitting an out on the turn OR the river, right? What happens when I don't hit my out on the turn and my opponent makes another bet that would now be a bad call once my odds are cut in half (8 outs = 16% after the turn)? Is a good call after the flop only a good call if you get to see the turn AND river? It seems to me that a call after the flop is only good if I take full advantage of the odds which were calculated which could mean seeing the hand out to the river. How do you adjust for this?

Doesn't sound bad to me, but it is just disheartening knowing that we will be making this monthly payment seemingly forever. She will soon be getting a full-time position and a compesatory salary for someone with her education. Is there anything we can do to pay off this loan in a better fashion? If we can afford larger monthly payments, would it be wise to make them? Any general advice for situations like this would be appreciated.
