• Why in asian fiction (mainly novels and graphical novels) the date of action is often redacted?

I m sure a lot of people have noticed a returning trend in many books and graphic novels of authors, instead of plainly writing "2017"ish (as the case may be) replacing 17 with a couple of XXs, making it at times almost impossible to create story s timeline. I m sure a lot of people have noticed a returning trend in many books and graphic novels of authors, instead of plainly writing "2017"ish (as the case may be) replacing 17 with a couple of XXs, making it at times almost impossible to create story s timeline. I never really put any more thought into the matter (besides the fact of being slightly annoyed), so recalling each work where this practice exists would take some time, but the more recent place I read with it was Liu Cixin s "Dark Forest." In the very prologue (spoilers ahead) where the ant goes along the date of birth and then death it doesn t go past 20-- as stated, it gets bored of this task, and moves on to follow the characters for the name on the grave. My question is: why? Why are some authors, mostly in asian countries, reluctant to spell out the date in their novels? Is it a taboo? A cool thing? Not willing to create a narration for predictions? Or maybe plain and simple "date is not important"? I know this question may seem a little bit childish, and perhaps it is naive to even think that there s some hidden agenda, but it just... keeps bugging me. Thanks in advance!

If the latter, which set would you recommend would be the best for my gigabyte (32gb max)?

I recently gotten interested in Superman and Batman comics, but I want to know if there are any reboots of the series, such like Marvel's Ultimates? If not, which issue of the series would be the best for me start from, if not from the very beginning, that includes both heroes origins?

My male hero is already a monarch, but before he became one, I haven't finished either "Kidnapped" or "Lost Romance" quests (because I haven't read the wiki in time) and before becoming a monarch I've opened the family pack on the road to rule, and my question is: is there a way to meet Elise and marry her after doing it like that, or do I have to start over?

Hi good lads and gals, I am looking for some good long mangas! Without ado, here's what I want in those, and what I don't want! _ Mangas with those characteristics counts as those I want! _ It needs to be long, preferably ongoing/publishing title (long means 100~200+)[note - if it's a very good manga, but shorter than that, but you just have to mention it, do it. I'd love to read some good titles]; It needs to be good (as in GOOD good, not just meh good); It needs to have romance, but not necessarily; I am getting short on new survivals to read, so if you have any, throw those on the stack [any]; _ It can be/contain: _ Shoujo, but I'm more into Survivals, Shounens, and Seinens; Mature content; Gore; Horror'ish; Criminal; School life; Old (Kochikame-old); Comedy(examples of a good comedy: Kochikame, Gintama, Dansei Koukousei no Nichijou); Harem; In-game setting, as in like: .hack/series, 1/2 Prince, Accel World, Sword Art Online etc. Martial Arts; Catastrophic; Sci-Fi; Drama; Psychological(like: Serial Experiments Lain, Shinreigari: Ghost Hound, etc); Vampires(note: not like vampire knight guilty and blood-c. no thanks. More like Blood+, Dance in the Vampire Bund or Hellsing, now, hell yes!); Mystery; _ I seriously don't want: _ Big boobs - NO (HOtD is a good example: if not it being a survival, I wouldn't touch it); Too much ecchi; Cliché main hero (as in: a hero who is tossed around by everyone and everything, is called "hentai" by the first heroine to appear in the first five panels, looks like he could be blown away by the slightest wind gust, and in anime have child's voice, even if he's 17. Keitarou doesn't count here. He'll always be my hero); Yuri/Yaoi; Too much smuts and no; Sports (I am getting tired too fast); Too much psychological (I like psychological mangas, but some just missed the point of being psychological and went being just wacko); Fantasy; _ Too big? Why so big list of what-wants? It's hard to find good manga, if you're picky person, really. Here's what I read/am reading that matches those wants: Dragon Ball; Kochikame; Hyouryuu Kyoushitsu; Video Girl Ai; Densetsu Angel; Recca no Honoo; DNA²; GTO; Ranma ½; Eden: It's an Endless World!; Vagabond; Detective Conan; One Piece; HunterxHunter; Gintama; Naruto; Bleach; Hellsing; Gantz; Chobits; .hack/all; Death Note; Elfen Lied; Groove Adventure Rave; Fairy Tail; Eden no Ori; Meteor; Byousoku 15 centimeter; I am a Hero; Kanojo wo Mamoru 51 no Houhou; Kekkaishi; La Corda d'Oro; Lone Wolf and Cub; Love Hina; Metro Survive; NHK ni Youkoso!; Wolf Guy: Ookami no Monshou Accel World; Alive: Saishuu Shinkateki Shounen; A Spirit of the Sun; Bloody Monday; Bloody Junkie; Code:Breaker; Corpse Party: Blood Covered; EX - Shounen Hyouryuu; Jisatsutou; Kangoku Gakuen; Let's Lagoon; Corpse Party series; Aphorism; Akumetsu; The Breaker; Suzuka; Enigma; 7Seeds; Another; Apocalypse no Toride; Deadman Wonderland; Higanjima; Hohzuki Island; Homunculus; Ikigami; Nae ga Yuru; Planetes; Survival; Tokyo Girls Destruction; Toradora!; Zero no Tsukaima; It would take far too long time to describe every one of those, but, if you're looking for something, that matches my "I-wants" then I recommend all of those. Grab, and enjoy. And now, it's up to you, random internet folks, to help me out here. I am running in circles (literally and mentally); I even won't lie that I have free time off work, because even when I am writing this I am working, though, I lost inspiration, and I just need to read something good. So please, random internet folks, help me: you're my only hope. This, or TV, and I seriously don't want to watch hentais at 5 in the morning.

So, if you know any good (and I mean it - GOOD) shounen romance manga, then help me out! It'd be good though if it'd be WITHOUT: -Big Boobs (I am certainly not a fan of those, BUT if it's really good, then I take it, definitely); -Ecchi (no exaggeration here, It can be ecchi, but for gods sake, not some cliche ecchi D:); -No... just. No. As in: No Shoujo!; -Harem kind of a story with cliche hero (So, if it's a "Hentai!" kind of talk to our main hero, then it's a NO); -Plot is just bad. Meaning - it can be from 2000 b.c, with primitive drawings; the characters can look like crap, but if the story is bad then thanks, but no thanks, I'll pass (though, I already told that I want a good manga, though people tend to don't give a s*** about it :) Those are the things I don't want to see, but again - if it's good then go ahead and rec it. And here's a list of mangas that I've already broke through, or I am reading now [I would put there MAL links, but I can just 10... so go to MyAnimeList.net to look those titles up!]: 1/2 Prince Accel World Alive: Saishuu Shinkateki Shounen (little of romance though) Bakuman. Cavalier of the Abyss (Sequel to the Immortal Regis, manhwa) Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai. Detective Conan/Case Closed DNA² Eden no Ori/Cage of Eden Elfen Lied (A seinen, but a damn good one) Flame of Recca Gantz Highschool of the Dead (if not for it being a survival, I wouldn't even touch it. Seriously, dude, those boobs are too huge!) I am a Hero (kinda not a romance, but still, it's still there ;p) Ichigo 100% Kangoku Gakuen/Prison School Kekkaishi (I'm still waiting... for the sequel ;_; ) Koukou no Hito Let's Lagoon Love Hina (+ specials, + anime + movie + Keitaro doll : D ) Nodame Cantabile Ranma ½ Sankarea ST&RS Suzuka Tasogare Otome x Amnesia Video Girl Ai Wolf Guy - Ookami no Monshou Welcome to the N.H.K. And that's all. There's pretty much too much very good romance mangas here, so itadakimasu for you if you just discovered them (I rec all of them btw), and hopefully for me too, if you rec any good shounens :) [<- annoying smile] Also if you like shoujo's, but was looking for shounen's, here's also list of those I've readed (otherwise skip?): Akkan Baby Apocalypse Beast Master Bokura ga Ita Hatenkou Yuugi Junketsu + Kareshi Kaichou wa Maid-sama! Kieli Lovely Complex Shinobi Life Thanks!
