• Can anyone give a testable definition of a soul?

Think carefully, it needs to fit only what the soul is and not what we know to be something else. For example, a definition of life could be: "eats, breathes and replicates", but that definition also includes fire, crystals and potentially other chemical reactions.

  • Appeal process?

I recently submitted an appeal and showed that it did not come close to violating the community guidelines and yet the appeal was rejected on "Terms of Service". I completely clueless how it could have possibly violated the TOS. Is the appeal process just a sham?

  • Does anyone else feel that "sample ballots" are insulting?

I've never liked the sample ballots (both parties) that people try to hand out. Seriously, it's not that hard to tell what party a candidate is and I don't need someone else to tell me how to vote. Are these "ballots" actually useful, or are they just insulting?

Read Proverbs, understand what it says in historical/cultural context and then select one or more proverbs that demonstrate wisdom that could only come from divine inspiration.

In other words forcing your "morality" on others does not help them in any way. I'm not as familiar with Islam, but what good is it if someone does not believe in Allah but has to follow Allah's rules? A side question, if your god is real, why do humans need to enforce your god's rules? Isn't your god powerful enough to do this, or are you worried that your god won't actually judge people the way you want it to?

This is, as I understand it, normal practice. We recently contacted HomEq about restructuring our ARM. This process should have been fairly quick as it was an adjustment not a refinance, however we were concerned about the time it was taking and that we might be late on a payment. We expressed this to a representative at HomEq, and were informed that they would place a "freeze" on our account and any missed payments would be rolled into the mortgage with no penalties. The problem is now they have reported us to the credit bureaus as late. We have tried to resolve this with them but have hit walls and run-a-rounds. (We do have the date/time of the conversation and employee ID of the adviser that said that they would freeze the account.) The question is what organizations are the most appropriate to report this too? (Sorry about the length of the question, and wasn't sure of the exact section to post this to)

  • Do Christian think that rules do not apply to them?

One of the most frequent abuses of Y!A in R&S are prayer requests. These are plainly against the Community guidelines and the TOS. So, why do Christians think that they are above these rules - that we all agreed to when we started to use this service? Does this present a good witness? (I'd say not).

  • Are Scifi Writers better prophets than religious books?

This is for fun mostly. Jules Vern and HG Wells made many very accurate "assumptions" about the future. Preferably without looking at messianic prophecies, or other self referential ones in other religions, who has a better track record? (feel free to include other prophets as well).
