A few weeks ago, I came home and plugged in my amp. Out of nowhere it just started buzzing, in fact it vibrated a little too, I could feel it through the ground. I got my dad to look at it and he said it is something on the inside and at some point we will have to take it to get it fixed.
But today, I wanted to learn a song on it so thought I would test to see if it was a)working again or b)would work with headphones.
So, I got my amp out and plugged it into the socket, and flicked it on, and without further ado it began it's buzzing/minor vibrating routine. So, I plugged in my earphones, the amp stopped doing it's thing and instead the earphones started buzzing. If I twiddled the earphones around a little at the socket then I could get the buzzing to stop but as soon as the moved again, there would be a loud click, that was audible only through the headphones, and then the buzzing would start again. Dejectedly, I begun to fiddle with the knobs on the guitar and the amp. While twisting the ones on the guitar, I noticed three things. First, my earphones fell silent- taking this as a sign of encouragement, I continued. Then I smelt something like burning electrics and quickly located it to be coming from the amp, and whilst smelling my amp, I noticed that it was beginning to smoke a little, although it looked more like mild kettle steam, so I quickly unplugged everything and switched it off.
What happened?! Is there anyway to fix it!? It's not gonna explode is it...? Help :c
