I am president of my school's Gay-Straight Alliance. We wanted to have staff and students come together and work on a video to the song "You Will be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen. The video would include people singing the song, holding cards with uplifting messages, and speaking their own messages of love and encouragement, with the song playing in the background. I m interested in studying psychology because my personal mental health issues inspired me to learn more about it. Is this appropriate to talk about?2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 months ago
Hi! I'm a high school senior who just got accepted into his number 1 school. I am registered for the December SAT. Is it worth it to take it again, now that I have gotten into the college of my choice? Will my financial aid get better with better tests scores? My score was already good to begin with. A 1260 and a 1230, both slightly above average for the college. Will I get more money if I retake the test and do better?8 AnswersStandards & Testing10 months ago
I'm just wondering if I should put this in the awards/honors section of the common app for college?1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)11 months ago
Hi! I am a high school senior working on college applications. I have some questions about my resume.
Throughout high school, I have been actively involved in several extracurricular activities and community service events. I have a lot of meaningful things to add to my resume, but it causes it to go beyond one page. Is it ok to have a resume that is closer to two full pages? Will it hurt my chances if it is too long? If so, how long is too long?
My last question is whether or not I should add my GPA and standardized test scores. My GPA is 3.35 unweighted, 5.46 weighted (my school operates on a 6.0 scale for weighted GPA, and a 4.0 scale for unweighted). My highest SAT score is a 1260 (1270 when superscored). Is it worth it to add these numbers to my resume? Do I even need to? I've seen resume templates that include these stats, but other that do not. Should I add them?2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education11 months ago
Hey everyone. Here’s what happened. I was recently called back for a local theatre production of Little Shop of Horrors. During the callback, I belted a line. Immediately after belting, my side (directly under my chest) started hurting. It’s been almost a full day and it still hurts when I touch it? Why is the pain there? Did I belt too hard or unhealthily? What can I do to solve this?Injuries12 months ago
Hey guys! I m auditioning for PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educator s Association) All-State Vocal Jazz. I wanted to know, if I were to get into this group, would I still be able to do All-State Choir (again, assuming I qualify for it)? It says "no" in the 2018-2019 rules, but it doesn t say anything about it in the new, 2020 rules?1 AnswerPerforming Arts1 year ago
Hi! I'm a junior currently in Spanish 2. My school lets student's take certain courses over the summer. I was considering doing Spanish 3 over the summer and doing Spanish 4 (my school does 4 levels of Spanish before AP) senior year. I am thinking about self-studying AP Spanish while enrolled in Spanish 4. I have taken Spanish classes since middle school and have been told I have a natural knack for foreign language. I also have access to amazing teachers who are willing to help me when I need it. Do you think this is a good idea? Any resources you can recommend? Thank you in advance!2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education1 year ago
Could one of the effects of Japanese modernization (after the Meiji restoration) be the rise of nationalism?

Basically, I've been staying up late (absolute latest being 1 in the morning) talking with friends in a group chat from school. We're theatre kids, so we mainly talk about school and musicals we're into, nothing inappropriate. We also send a lot of memes to each other, but again, nothing inappropriate. I only stay up late when I know I don't have school the next day. However, my parents don't trust me, and assumed that I must be talking about bad stuff. Yesterday, my dad came into my room and took my phone to look through the conversation. Later, he asked me to come to his room. He made me delete the app I was using to message my friends (Amino), and made me delete all my contacts. Why, you may ask? Because I used swear words and sent "inappropriate cartoons" (memes). Keep in mind, I only swear in text conversation, very sparingly. I tried to explain that everyone uses those words (I've heard my dad swear multiple times), but he told me that "everyone" doesn't include me. What does that even mean? When asked about the memes, I tried to explain that it was just supposed to funny, and that he just didn't understand it. He kept on cutting me off, not letting me explain. He proceeded to yell at me some more, still not letting me speak. In the end, he kept the phone, saying I could only use it for emergencies and I went to my room and cried at how unfair I thought the situation was. Do you agree with me? Was this unfair, or am I taking this way too seriously?3 AnswersFamily3 years ago
