  • WHICH BEST DESCRIBES YOU: LIBERTARIAN, RIGHT, CENTRIST, LIBERAL (LEFT) or STATIST?

LIBERTARIANS: Support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.

Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

RIGHT (CONSERVATIVES) -Conservatives tend to favor economic freedom, but frequently support laws to restrict personal behavior that violates "traditional values." They oppose excessive government control of business, while endorsing government action to defend morality and the traditional family structure. Conservatives usually support a strong military, oppose bureaucracy and high taxes, favor a free-market economy, and endorse strong law enforcement.

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice. Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

LIBERALS (THE LEFT) usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help

the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

STATISTS (Big Government): Statists want government to have a great deal of power over the economy and individual behavior. They frequently doubt whether economic liberty and individual freedom are practical options in today's world. Statists tend to distrust the free market, support high taxes and centralized planning of the economy, oppose diverse lifestyles, and question the importance of civil liberties.

  • IS FREEDOM OF SPEECH DIRECTLY UNDER ATTACK BECAUSE OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS?

The USA is fortunate that the Founding Fathers and the Constitution also formulated the Bill of Rights. But all of our rights as listed in the Constitution are under attack by both POLITICAL parties in the USA. Many countries all over the world are emulating the USA's Political Correctness binge. here. Under Obama, they are in serious jeapardy. Instead of the right of free speech and FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, we have politicial correctness. If you say or write something that those in power do not agree with you can get sued for making disagreeable statements. Many in the Democrats (the liberal party here) insist that disagreeing with Oblama is wrong and should not be allowed. So then, I PERSONALLY consider that both a DIRECT THREAT TO my freedom of speech...AND SUCH ACTIONS AS the mark of a tyrant.

Most Americans consider the right to own and bear arms (as in other ENLIGHTENED countries like Switzerland...and others) important because it gives us the ability to defend ourselves in our homes from attack and because it gives us the ability to change our government (which we have never done) IF REQUIRED. The politicians are continually attacking that right a little at a time.

SO, IS P.C. A DIRECT ATTACK ON FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND EXPRESSION?

  • Iran's Ahmadinejad vs. Paul the psychic octopus...who will win?

Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the creature that correctly forecast World Cup results an agent of "western propaganda."

Poor Paul. Now he's roused the ire of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who lashed out at the sea creature during a recent speech. He accused Paul and his tentacles of spreading "western propaganda and superstition" and claimed that "those who believe in this type of thing" cannot, like Iranians, "aspire... to human perfection." How much can one eight-legged creature bear?

IS IT PREFERABLE FOR PAUL NOT TO MESS WITH PSYCHOTIC WORLD LEADERS?

...AND SHOULD PAUL BE MADE TO UNDERGO COUNSELLING?

(Paul, who lives at Germany's Oberhausen Sea Life Centre, could not be reached for comment.)

WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THIS LATEST THREAT TO PAUL, THE PSYCHIC OCTOPUS?

  • Which would you rather put up with---PHYSICAL OR EMOTIONAL PAIN?

We'd rather not have any pain at all, but unfortunately the way LIFE is, sooner or later it hits us one way or the other, from time-to-time. One thing I know for sure, whether it is EMOTIONAL or PHYSICAL pain---it builds character, one way or the other. But which would you rather put up with...that is, if you have a choice? And why?

  • 80'S AUSTRALIAN MUSIC---WHICH ONES ARE YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITES?

I'm drowning on a sea of nostalgia. Am just barely into my teens then but I remember the times as probably the happiest, most carefree days of my life. And the 80's produced a lot of AWESOME songs that blasted the music airwaves...ever! This was the time of the true spirit of MTV. For more than a decade, it was like a shooting star, an explosion of some of the most awesome pop music ever. Now they're still with us, but what you get to hear mostly are today's music...well, naturally. BUT Today's music mostly sucks!

HERE'S A SAMPLING OF SOME SELECTIONS: You can give as many examples as you want, with or without music links. All I ask is you list the title and the performing band (and maybe the year of release?..maybe?). Naturally, 10 points for the best anthology.

  • In GREECE, Who gets more respect, a person employed in a private firm or a government worker?

...generally speaking. Which job has more prestige or gains more respect, a person employed in the private sector or in the government sector...that is taking everything equally?

For example, in Australia and the USA, government 'workers' don't get the same level of respect for the same equal level of job as in the private sector. What about in Greece?

  • Are we in for another Great Depression?

..like the sever one the whole world experienced before WW2. Nominally starting with the stock market crash of October 29, 1929 (known as Black Tuesday), the depression originated in the U.S.. From there, it quickly spread to almost every country in the world.

Despite the $1 trillion stimulus bill, unemployment consistently remained at 9.5 percent and above. Hundreds of thousands of additional potential workers have just given up looking for a job. Some analysts say the real unemployment rate is above 15 percent. The chair of President Barack Obama’s White House Council of Economic Advisors quit last week, the day before the elitist know-nothings in charge declared their “surprise” that 130,000 more jobs were lost in July.

  • WHO DO YOU THINK WILL STAFF THIS NEW 0BAMA LEGISLATION IF IT IS PASSED?

The 0bama administration is backing legislation that would require United States businesses to provide to the government data about employee pay as it relates to sex, race and national origin of employees.

It’s not enough that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) already has all your work data. Now other government departments want to snoop deeper into your life. Under the guise of trying to ensure pay equity for women and minorities, Obama wants to have even more of your information.

In addition to giving the Federal government more data to mine about its citizens, this legislation puts more onerous regulations on businesses at a time when businesses need a break. This is further evidence the current administration is no friend to business or the American people.

Even more amazing is this comes from a man who won’t release a valid copy of birth certificate—not a certificate of live birth that anyone could obtain in Hawaii but a real birth certificate that names the delivering physician and can be used as an official document—his passport records or his college transcripts.

    No secrets… Obama excepted.

  • WHO ARE THEY PROTECTING?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTBuDIybwWw

This 25-year-old Maryland Air National Guard sergeant Anthony Graber is facing 16 years in prison, Just because he posted this video on YouTube. Graber was cut off in traffic and stopped by this gun-wielding plainclothes officer after speeding down Interstate 95 in Maryland on his motorcycle. He was, rightly, charged with speeding. But state police didn’t like the fact that Graber posted his video on YouTube.

So in April state police raided his parents’ home in Abingdon, Md., and confiscated his camera, computer and external hard drives. Then he was indicted on a charge of violating state wiretap laws by recording the trooper.

Many of us were raised with the idea that the police are there to protect us. All too often those sworn to protect us are nothing more than abusive, power-mad thugs with the authority of the state behind their actions.

So what we are learning is it is perfectly okay for police officers to record their encounters with suspects using dash cameras in their patrol cars and hidden cameras in their interrogation rooms, but if a citizen being accosted by police or witnessing police abuse records the incident the state will treat him like he’s John Dillinger. So much for the idea of “To protect and serve.”

  • How can a man really make a woman truly happy? ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    IS IT REALLY THAT DIFFICULT?

A man was riding his Harley bike along a California beach when suddenly the

sky cleared above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said,

'Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant

    you one wish..'

Recovering from the shock, the biker pulled over and said, 'Lord, please build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want.'

The Lord said, 'Your request is TOO materialistic. Think of the enormous

challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports required reaching

the bottom of the Pacific and the concrete and steel it would take! It

will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is

hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little

more time and think of something that could possibly help mankind.'

The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally, he said, 'Lord, I

wish that I and all men could understand women; I want to know how she

feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent

treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong,

why she snaps and complains when I try to help, and HOW CAN I MAKE A WOMAN TRULY HAPPY.'

The Lord replied, 'You want two lanes or four lanes on that bridge?'

  • Is Obama REALLY a socialist? Do you REALLY have the evidence that he REALLY is?

....A SOCIALIST? The assertion is getting louder: "President Obama is a socialist, a wealth-redistributing wolf in Democrat's clothing gnawing at America's entrepreneurial spirit." Even if Obama is not a card-carrying Socialist, they say, he displays a disdain of the private sector.

Socialism suggests getting rid of capitalism altogether...
