There’s this girl in my class at school. We’re kind of friends? Like, we talk occasionally, but only really in one class. We used to be better friends, not best friends or anything, but we talked. I’m very awkward with anyone besides my closest friends though, and recently I’ve developed a kind of huge crush on this girl, making me even more nervous with her. I feel bad about it, but I’ve kind of been avoiding her because of it. Anyway, last week, I noticed cuts on her legs through her ripped jeans. I thought maybe i was imagining it, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Then today, I saw the cuts on her wrists in class. I want to make sure she’s okay and let her know that I am there for her, but I don’t know if it would be appropriate for me to bring it up to her considering how awkward I’ve made things between us. She doesn’t know that I like her, so I’m worried she thinks that I’m avoiding her because I don’t like her. She is so, so kind. She’s always there for everyone else and making sure their okay, and I just want her to worry about herself as much as she does everyone else. I need to make sure she’s okay, I won’t forgive myself if I don’t, but I don’t know if it would be appropriate for me to do that. If it is, how do I approach it? I was worried about her before this happened, so I always ask if she’s alright whenever we talk, but I’m worried it’s just starting to sound like empty words I resort to using whenever I don’t know what to say. Please help?
