  • Can I change my gain for car subwoofer? ?

I’m fairly new to audio. I don’t mean the amp setting, I know not to mess with that. There’s a setting in my aftermarket stereo that allows me to adjust subwoofer gain. I don’t understand gain very well, but I know that turning it up makes my subs louder. When my subs were installed, the gain was set at -8 on the stereo. If i turn that up to say, -4, will i risk blowing my subs? Or am I free to mess with that setting?

  • Bottomed out car making weird noises. ?

I know this is very hard to diagnose without seeing but I’m stressing over bottoming out my car today. It was bad. Pointy rock got lodged right through the middle and it took two car jacks to get out. When i started to drive, the faster I went, the louder and faster this scraping noise got. Is this the axles? Any ideas on how expensive a fix would be? The engine light is not on.

  • Why is NCIS a thing? ?

Perhaps I misunderstand all the duties of NCIS, but to me it just seems like criminal investigation specifically for the military. Why do we need a separate investigative service for marines/navy/army etc?

  • Is it worth it to workout for a job that’s in 5 days? ?

I’m a healthy 17 year old. I’ve got a dry walling job coming up that will require me to carry fairly heavy sheet rocks down some stairs. It will be repetitive and heavy lifting and carrying. I want to put on some extra muscle real quick to make this job a little easier.  I understand that DOMS will prevent me from lifting weights all 5 days, however, is it worth it to hit my back and arms really hard for a couple days and overload on protein and then wait out the remaining 3 days for DOMS to take place before the job? Or would that hinder my muscular endurance/strength?

  • Does intelligence affect the chances of winning in a physical fight?

I’ve never been in a real fight, only little scuffles with my brother. I’m a teenager, and as a teenager, i recognize that i feel invincible and i am most definetly not, however i can’t help how i feel. Although I’ve never been in a fist fight, I’ve read plenty online on the details such as the adrenaline and how to fight etc. My whole life I’ve felt slightly more intelligent than others my age, maybe because of my egotistical point of view or maybe because i actually am. Regardless, I’m curious as to if/how intelligence affects a fist fight. I know that reflexes obviously help and there’s a lot of strategy involved. But is your brain used for anything else in a fight? We protect it most in a fight, surely it has more purpose? Do intelligent people win fights more often than unintelligent people? I’m a fairly big teen and I’m taking boxing lessons soon. How are my chances of winning? Feel free to regale me with stories of your fights, and yes I’m also aware that violence isn’t the answer to everything. Although sometimes anger and testosterone overpowers reason and there’s not a lot you can do. Sorry about the absurdly lengthy question, but does intelligence matter besides reflexes? Thanks for any info!
